’m from Texas, so I was curious to see how their chicken fried steak stacked up. And it’s legit. Crispy, well-seasoned, topped with great cream gravy, and served with a solid side of mashed potatoes—it’s a serious meal. I finished with the pecan pie. Not my favorite – the crust didn’t have much flakiness, but it was still decent. The overall vibe was great though, and the service was really friendly. I’ll be back.

Love it here always!! Their nachos and fried chicken sandwich are delicious and the portions justify the price in my opinion! I’m also a sucker for a fountain Diet Coke and theirs is particularly good. Margherita is also delish.

Also love the size of the drinks (pictured). Hard to find this kind of cup in the city so it’s nice to have a Big Drink sometimes. The nachos (pictured) are also just fantastic.

The staff is also always so welcoming and kind. The place is super clean and the atmosphere is so fun.

I hope to keep coming back forever!

I ordered the chicken fried chicken plus a biscuit on a Sat and it was terrible. Nothing was seasoned. The chicken was so dry, bland and hard to cut. Cheese grits not an ounce of flavor or salt or any seasoning. The biscuit wasn’t good. It felt like eating a bread roll with a stale top. The butter and jelly didn’t make it any better. Veggie of the day was a sad piece of steam broccoli just empathize the laziness of the whole meal totalled to $29 before tax. I just couldn’t find a reason to comeback ever again.

For this review, I came here on a nice weather Sunday in late August for brunch. I’ve been here many times before and I absolutely love the place. The atmosphere is so fun. I’m originally from Texas and even though I’ve been gone from Texas for over a decade, it still gives me a lot of nostalgia vibes.

Most times I’ve come here, I’ve made a reservation but it usually seems like walk-ins are available. I don’t believe they take reservations online, but you can make one over the phone.

As far as food, the queso and chips are so great and feels like TexMex quality. This is not a TexMex restaurant, to be clear, but it seems like standard Texas restaurant that offers a combination of Tex Mex and southern cuisine. Think of it as quirkier Willie’s Ice House. I also love the frito pie and the quesadillas. The frozen margaritas are some of the best in the city because they have a margarita machine whereas many places try to make them in a blender.

Sometimes certain servers can be a little cold or aloof, but generally they always get you what you need. I look forward to coming to this restaurant all the time and recommend it frequently, especially for groups.

The service and Atmosphere was welcoming and Grand. It was Halloween and the decorations were up and exciting. Our waitress was very polite and had great recommendations. I really wish I went with the country fried streak, mashed potatoes and gravy. It looked good from across the room!!!

Thanks for having us!

This is such a fun, southwestern-themed restaurant! I loved the style and flair in every direction and the food was fantastic too! There are great soul food options, lots of vegetarian and classics. I loved the catfish which comes either grilled, blackened or fried. Lots of people got the chili and ribs, also great cornbread! Would recommend the prickly pear margarita which you can also get frozen! This is great for a post-work outing or night out, highly recommend!

Would come here for a beer in a can- great atmosphere and service. Would not eat here again- food was bad/dry and cutlery/cups were really dirty. But the staff did an amazing job accommodating us.

We had a great dinner here with friends and family. There’s is a lot of room for bigger parties. The decor is a lot of fun. Definitely different for NYC. The food we had was all tasty. Frito pie and fried okra were same as we would have in Texas. The kids loved the mac and cheese and burger. Wife’s salad was very good. The service was good especially with a big party at dinner.
