There’s something special about the simple, no-fuss goodness of a Dick’s hamburger. They are consistently delicious, and you always know you’re getting a quality burger. Seeing my family enjoy them so much was the best part. They loved the classic, drive-in feel and, of course, the fantastic food.
For anyone visiting Seattle, I have to insist: you must go to Dick’s. And you can’t just get a burger; you have to get it with one of their famous shakes. The combination is just perfect – a juicy, flavorful hamburger paired with a thick, creamy shake. Wow! It’s an experience that is quintessentially Seattle.
We all left happy and full. It was a wonderful meal and a great memory to share with my family. We will definitely be back.
Okay, this place was quite hyped up so I decided to check it out. Fries for less than three dollars in the economy? Let’s try.
The guy at the counter handed it over with a big smile and an, “enjoy your fries!”, so I grinned back and bid him a good day.
Then, I opened the bag. Now, take a good look at the picture since we didn’t eat a single bite (yeah, to make it worse, we were splitting this between four very hungry people).
Suffice to say, no one enjoyed this fistful of fries (no wonder it’s so cheap) that were cold, soggy, and burnt. Alas.
(To make matters worse, we stood out in the freezing temperatures for ten minutes for this misery. And even worse, when we walked over to the windows, we could see heaps of fries. Heaps. Ouch, our stomachs and wallets took a hit upon seeing that. And then at our bag.)
I think my first clue that it wasn’t going to be great was when I saw them pick up my burger from a pile of seven or eight premade burgers. I got a plain cheeseburger, that’s how I like it. It was not good. It just seemed like it had been sitting for 10 or 15 minutes.
The fries were soggy. No other way to put it. Nobody likes soggy fries, and these were not good.
The chocolate shake was a standard run of the mill soft serve chocolate shake. Nothing to write home about.
The atmosphere kind of sucks. It’s basically in the middle of a strip mall parking lot. So there really is no true atmosphere.
Two high points: the service was fantastic. Really nice staff. The price was really affordable. Having said that, I guess you get what you pay for.
