All in all, this is a great place to try out. I didn’t know about this Mexican restaurant until I visited for the first time this past week. The atmosphere was very nice and quiet, and the staff was great.
The food, however, was overall decent. The queso was pretty good and had a nice presentation. The menu was surprising for a Mexican restaurant because it wasn’t what you would typically expect. I got a Cubana sandwich, but I thought it was pretty boring—overall, just okay.
From what I tried, I’d say the food was average, but I would still go back to see if there’s something they cook really well.
As for the drinks, I was very happy because they have a spicy margarita with Tajín, and it was very good. The glassware was a little on the small side, but the drink itself was great!

Went on Sunday for the Sunday Brunch menu. We dined outside, and the ambiance was perfect on that sunny day! The mimosas were good and the food did not disappoint! I’m Mexican, so the food was not the traditional, but indeed very delicious and fulfilling! The pastor rolls were amazing and highly recommended.

Full disclosure – first time patron of Serrano’s. I’ve heard good things from many people so it’s very possible we ordered on an off day. That said, here’s our experience:
Ordered Suiza enchiladas, appetizer quesadillas, street tacos & Mexican egg rolls. This was a pickup order for a small office bday party get together.
Pro’s: pricing seemed fair, extremely fast turn-around & kind receptionist/cashier on the phone and at pickup to assist.
Con’s: The quesadilla tasted like chemicals unfortunately. Maybe the area around the griddle had just been cleaned but there was a noticeable cleaning agent residue on them. The street taco meat (carne asada) was closer to plain boiled beef than a seasoned grilled cut. Chewy, flavorless and no grilling texture. Lastly, the Mexican eggrolls just weren’t appetizing. Sweet Al Pastor meat in an eggroll wrap dusted with what was possibly sugar? The meat lacked flavor and the sweet exterior was strange. Very oily inside too.
Worth mentioning, the Enchilada’s were well liked. Likely won’t try again due to there being so many other options in Anchorage.

this Restaurant deserves more local support. They’ve done a beautiful modern renovation, the restaurant is very clean, and the atmosphere is comfortable. Food quality is good and consistent, and the service is fast with plenty of seating available. Perfect Midtown lunch spot—our entire visit took about 45 minutes. A great option when you want something easy, efficient, and enjoyable.

Serrano’s consistently has delicious food and a fun ambience. They’re definitely in the top 10 restaurants of Anchorage. My go-to meal is the enchiladas suizas with chicken. The choriqueso is sooo delicious too! The service can be a little slow sometimes but I appreciate that they take the time to make a lot of stuff in house.

Stopped here for an early lunch so it was virtually empty. Ordered the chips and salsa (Verde, mild, and raspberry habanero). I had the carne asada torta with fries and my wife ordered 3 street tacos (carne asada, carnitas, barbacoa), rice and beans. I also ordered the house margarita. We enjoyed all of the food so much we ordered dessert: flan and fried ice cream. Overall the food was very good, but the waitress did not ask any questions so be sure to state clearly what you want (e.g. no tomatoes, salsa preference, etc). Also, the men’s restroom although small seemed clean and had a lemony scent which was a bonus.

Ordered to go and got a small portion for the price I paid. If I had ordered in person dining the portion would have been bigger and worth the price. Will I eat here again? Probably not.
