Char really tries to be a NY steakhouse but misses the mark. The service was very good, Vinchenzo was on top of things, but that was it. Steaks were fine, but for the prices the should have been better. Sides were fine, alcoholic drinks were fine. Nothing stood out as exceptional, just acceptable. Everything is à la carte, water is free. Soft drink refills, extra charge, bread, one roll that’s it. Went with the family on weekend, place was mostly empty. Was seated in the bar area with several usuals at the bar along with a few employees. Sports bar atmosphere which is fine if we wanted a louder experience from a bar atmosphere. This was our first visit and was warned by a friend about his experience at Char. I should have listened. $500 for dinner with 2 people having a mixed drink, sorry, many better options to spend $500. Plus you get hit with a credit card surcharge, hard pass on Char for a quality steak dining experience.

Went to a group dinner here with a fixed menu and new I wanted to come back to experience everything. Our server was great. Drinks were good and the crabmeat stuffed lobster was to die for. I don’t know how I managed to squeeze in dessert but the bread pudding was YUM!

We enjoyed the escargot, tomahawk steak, and oysters and every dish was absolutely flawless. The flavors were outstanding and cooked to perfection. Our server was attentive, friendly, and made the experience even more enjoyable. A truly memorable meal that I would recommend to anyone.

Overall, the experience was good; specifically, I thought the sevice was attentive, speedy, and helpful. I found a tiny space in the back, but my date was looking for a spot on the adjacent street, but another tiny space opened in the back back. There is valet parking, so this is a minor niggle. Because of the parking search we were late for the reservation, but the desk staff was accommodating and helpful. Seating is tight. Tiny tables really close to other couples. You could scooch the tables together for parties of 4-6, but bigger tables were available. While it was mildly noisy, the conversations at adjacent tables were clearly audible and that was uncomfortable for a first date! The steaks were cooked exactly to temp and were tasty but… nothing special. Certainly not for that price point. We had the waiter-recommended Kansas City strip and the Cowboy Ribeye. The creme brulee dessert was delicious!

Good food, good vibes, wouldn’t mind going back, only criticism might be that it’s slightly overpriced but still somewhat fair/expected for this sort of establishment.
Service was good, although we were overlooked and not offered bread during our sit down, not a big deal as we didn’t need the extra carbs but still found it strange especially when they came literally next to our table and didn’t even offer.
Appetizers were all great, entrees as well. Good presentation.

The food was excellent! Elia was the best server and very professional. We will request him the next time we come back to Char Steakhouse! He listened to our request to not be rushed the best dinner experience! It was the first date night out as new parents and he made our experience extraordinary!

Our dinner experience at Char was good, but not exceptional. Our server, Vincenzo, was fantastic, family members enjoyed their steaks, and my spicy rigatoni was very good, though not actually spicy (which was just fine with me). That said, there were some downsides to the experience. For the price point, charging for refills on soft drinks seems greedy and ridiculous. There’s also something a little disjointed about the atmosphere, as if it’s part sports bar that also wants to be an upscale restaurant. Both are just fine, but it was a little bit of an odd vibe. Overall okay, but I guess I expected a little more for what we paid.
