So delicious! The portions are large and absolutely delicious! Our server, Jamie, was on point and very helpful when we had any questions. I had the whole fish. It was the best serving of fish I have ever had (and, I love fish!). My hubby had lasagna. It was enough to serve 2 or more. And, very delicious. The cocktails are ample and tasty. Especially the old fashioned. We were fortunate enough to get a seat with the most amazing view. Such a pleasure. The ambiance is amazing!!

We arrived on time for our 7:45pm reservation, were immediately told they are running behind- ended up seated by 8pm. Fine not a big deal. We were seated on a table that was basically in the run zone for tables (photo attached) and was also on a weak wood plank board so that every time someone walked by it lifted my chair causing me to teeter. After this happened for like the tenth time in a few minutes I asked if we can be moved. They said no reservations are full. Mind you I told them this is our anniversary. Also, our table was dirty- some left over dried pasta sauce from the last seating- gross! Then, they took forever to take our order- the waiter kept disappearing. Granted it was busy, but dang come on now, we didn’t get to place our order till 8:30. Then, we waited and didn’t get our app until 9pm. A citrus salad- which you would think would be greens with citrus right? No. It was just citrus lol. Then, we waited until about 9:30pm to get our food. The pasta was really good (something alla vodka) and we added shrimp and meatballs to it. The pizza was good but was a bit cold. Broccolini was tasty. They gave us some sparkling wine for our anniversary- but I kept seeing everyone else get a cupcake and a rum drink- I assume for their birthday- would of preferred that if they asked me lol. The lemoncello covered almonds at the end were yummy! Anyways- food was good, but could of been better. Service was way too slow. I won’t be back. The place is very cute and well decorated- insta worthy. If I come back to SD I will try another place for Italian.

Not much to say other than the food was outstanding—some of the best pizzas I’ve ever had. They also have a great selection of wines. The steak was cooked perfectly and full of flavor, and the dessert was just as delicious.
The restaurant offers beautiful views of the city, making the experience even more special. Whether you go for brunch or dinner, you’ll get a different vibe each time. The sunset views are stunning, and at night the city lights look absolutely amazing.
Definitely make sure to get reservations!

I wanted to visit here because I continued to see it online as a place to go in San Diego. I was also staying at the Intercontinental so it was very convenient. I decided to go for a solo lunch. I went up and it was a beautiful place. The rooftop is amazing and the views are magnificent! Super cute decor and ambiance. Unfortunately after being seated my service went downhill. I was not greeted or brought any water for quite some time. The person that sat me noticed and ended up bringing me some water which was timely because I was getting ready to get up and leave. It was not very busy so I was a little confused but very patient. Then when the server did stop at my table I asked for one more minute to decide on my order and it turned into ten more minutes. When I finally got my order in someone else brought it to me and my server never came to see how my food was so when they finally came to my table I was done eating and asked for my check. Check was given quickly and asked if I just wanted to get it processed then while they were there… so yea that’s how that went! Overall, the view and food were the highlight. I gave it another shot and went another night to the bar and had a great time and great service. I hope when I visit again I have a better dining in experience.

Seneca Trattoria delivered two consistently satisfying dinners in a row, making it an easy 4-star restaurant overall, with 5 stars for both service and view. The space is stunning, with panoramic city and water views that create a romantic, elevated atmosphere, and the team matches it with warm, polished, and genuinely attentive service over repeat visits.
Over two nights, the Wood-Fired Prawns, Margherita Pizza, Gnocchi Pomodoro, and Wood-Grilled Costata were all flavorful, well-executed, and nicely portioned, showing a kitchen that’s confident across both pasta and wood-fired dishes. Cocktails were very good—balanced and creative—and pairing everything with a nice Brunello di Montalcino rounded out the experience and highlighted the quality of their beverage program.
This is the kind of place that rewards coming back on consecutive nights: consistent cooking, excellent drinks, memorable views, and hospitality that makes a couple feel genuinely taken care of.

Seneca delivers an unforgettable dining experience. From the moment we arrived, the vibe, service, and atmosphere felt effortlessly refined. We were celebrating my husband’s birthday, and prior to our reservation, the restaurant thoughtfully reached out to ask for his name—an early sign of the exceptional attention to detail to come.
Upon being seated, my husband was presented with a personalized Happy Birthday menu, along with a celebratory drink and dessert. These elegant, personalized touches truly set Seneca apart and made the evening feel incredibly special.
The food was exquisite, beautifully executed, and full of flavor, while the cocktails were equally impressive—balanced, creative, and indulgent. Every detail felt intentional.
I highly recommend making a reservation and experiencing Seneca for yourself. This is luxury dining done right.

Excellent spot for Italian. Recommended by a friend, this place has a great mix of ambience, amazing food and great service. The bar has a wonderful view of the city and the atmosphere is very cozy. Server Hannah was fantastic with great recommendations. The Focaccia was some of the best I’ve ever had, and the prawns were delicious as was the pizza. Highly recommend a visit if you are in San Diego, looking for a great Italian experience.

Unfortunately, the rumors I’ve heard of this place are true, it is just another overhyped Consortium restaurant. I will say, the overall aesthetic, location, decor, and ambience of the place are well done. It’s a clean restaurant with a unique look and great views. Pizza and pasta dishes were nothing special, not something I would go out of my way for to order again. Our group really enjoyed our appetizers, specifically the arancini and the garlic focaccia. The squash and burrata, wasn’t the favorite, again, nothing really special.
The service is what really took a dip for our experience. We had a reservation for 7:30 and called hours before to update it to the notify we would be having less people. Seneca only had an automated system so we had to leave a voicemail, however, it’s clear that they did not check it or make the necessary adjustments, because when we arrived, the hostess did not know about our request and it took us nearly 15-20 minutes to be seated WITH a reservation. When we finally got seated, our server shortly took our drink order, however we did not see a trace of her for 30 minutes. This “service” continued on for the entirety of our dinner- extended wait times and our server was not checking on our table unless we would flag her down first. Given that this was a Tuesday night, the amount of time it took for us to wait for our orders when it was not even that busy was ridiculous.

We went here yesterday for my friend’s birthday dinner. Our server was Michelle, who was excellent, attentive and navigated us so well through the menu. We had the arancini, tuna tartar, focaccia bread and white sauce clam pasta with the banana bread for dessert. All were delicious and satisfying but the dessert had to be our favorite. Dynamic flavors and textures in one bite. We loved it!
They really make it special when you let them know it’s a celebration. The ambiance and design of this place is also so magical with so much attention to detail. I believe it was the manager who also came over to check on us with the rain and for the occasion. They really went above and beyond and we appreciated every aspect of the experience.

Perched on the 38th floor, this beautifully decorated space offers a stunning setting for any occasion—whether it’s a date night, celebration, casual hangout, or a stylish get-together. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to dress up and lean into the moment. The drinks and food were delicious, with thoughtful presentation and flavor. If you can, request a seat near the open kitchen—it’s a lively, engaging experience to watch the chefs in action. Overall, a memorable spot that blends ambiance, flavor, and a touch of excitement.
