This is a must have if you are in town. We celebrated our engagement here and our server Salim immediately clocked us and asked us with a. Congratulation. We were also provided a complimentary toast. Salim made our experience so much more special by being attentive, making thoughtful recommendations, and providing excellent service. Always a perfectly cooked steak or burger – and the best place to get seared sea scallops. Their bar has a huge wine list and serves beautiful, creative seasonal cocktails. We prefer to sit in the more casual, no reservations bar area. It’s cozy and the service is always wonderful.

I looked up the best dinner in Harrisonburg, VA… and Local Chop & Grill House came through HARD. Like, not-a-single-crumb-left kind of good.
Started things off with a Blueberry Fizz (Prosecco | St. Germain | Lemon | Lavender | Blueberry) and it was the perfect, floral little buzz to kick off the night.
Then came the jerk chicken wings with what they called money sauce — and let me tell you, they weren’t lying. I have no clue what was in it but I would 1000% dip everything I eat in it forever.
For dinner, I went with the 6oz hangar steak special (yes, I had to) and it melted in my mouth. Paired with the creamiest mashed potatoes and horseradish cream — 10/10.
Finished it all off with a warm peach cobbler special that made me wish I had stretchy pants on
The lounge was so cozy, the vibes were immaculate, and if I lived any closer… let’s just say they’d know my order by heart.

Place was absolutely magnificent, I just became an avid user of Google reviews and I had to come back and review this place, I took my girlfriend here in April 2025 for her birthday. The steak was delicious and the drinks were very aesthetic. Bonus points for me since she posted the drinks on her instagram story on the main account. That’s huge. For college kids it’s a little pricey but definitely worth going for the food and experience. My girlfriend was so happy after dining at this establishment and I think other men should take note and take their significant other out on a nice night out at this restaurant.

I made a special request for seating which they couldn’t have sat us in a better place.
Prior to our arrival, I received a courtesy call to verify the reservations I made were still good.
The food was excellent, the atmosphere was cozy and comfortable.
I highly recommend this place for a quiet, romantic dinner for two–or they can accommodate small groups as well.

We eat here frequently, typically in the bar area due to the fireplace and general atmosphere. We always enjoy the food and drinks, but yesterday evening was especially stellar. Michael is an attentive and fun bartender, incredibly skilled and knowledgeable. The Wagyu Burger, Salmon, and Ribeye were all perfectly cooked, flavorful, and an excellent end to a busy and stressful week. The cocktails (Lemon Drop Martini, Smoked Cranberry Margarita, Chocolate Pomegranate Martini, and Classic Ameretto Sour) were fantastic! We are looking forward to our next visit even more after this latest experience. Keep up the outstanding work, and don’t let Michael go!

Local Chop & Grill House was such a great experience! The staff was beyond friendly and made us feel really welcome. The food was absolutely amazing—everything tasted fresh, flavorful, and well-prepared. From the appetizers to the main dishes, you could really tell they put care into the ingredients and presentation. It’s a great spot for a nice meal out, whether you’re with family, friends, or just looking for really good food. Definitely a place I’d love to come back to!

Went for our anniversary dinner and everything was absolutely amazing! I had steak and hubby had the catfish. Service was outstanding the waiter took his time to explain each dish. Glad we chose the chophouse for our anniversary!!

Nice and quiet, warm ambience. Made a reservation for 8 pm with my girlfriend, and we were led directly to a table upon arriving. The chefs recommend that you pick something from each course in the menu for a complete dining experience, but we just picked the Creole crab dip from Course One, and the Canadian Salmon and the 8 oz Sirloin from Course Three. The food was delicious, the meat was cooked to a perfect medium rare, and the restaurant was pretty quiet as it was mostly empty. The only negative for me was that the non-alcoholic drink menu was very slight, however it’s not enough of a negative for me to remove a star as our hostess was very friendly and prompt in taking care of us and they supply ice water. I would definitely eat here again and bring more family/friends.
