Main breakfast was the Eggs Sardou for me and the Eggs New Orleans. The Sardou is shrimp, on a bed of creamed spinach with two poached eggs and hollandaise sauce. I ordered potatoes instead of the grits ( maybe next time…) I wished the shrimp were grilled with some Cajun sauce but came out naked on top of the hollandaise.
The New Orleans was delicious and the grits were silky. Both meals came with a ginormous biscuit. Make sure and try all the different house made jams. Yum.
There is always an exception to most every rule. Not everything is black and white.
The staff has been out in a precarious position because of the rules set by ownership. When a restaurant is on a wait, when there are six or more people, and when there are a number of reservations that require table space I understand the need for the entire party to be present before the table is sat.
And when there is no wait, and when there are four or less people, and there are plenty of open tables. There is absolutely no reason that that table can’t be set with the people that have arrived. Especially when one person probably would’ve been set up a for top anyway.
There are too many restaurants in this city that I do not have to waste my time and effort on in the pursuit of being set For that reason, I probably will not be a repeat customer. And I will re-share my experience with all the people I know.
Hats off to the manager, who did her very best to diffuse the situation and make up for the fact that there’s a ridiculous policy in place.
The food was good. The service was even better. The restrooms were very clean. I commend the staff for that.
Not all restaurants are for everyone. And I’m not a fit for all restaurants. This is that exception for me that I am not a good fit. I wish you the best.
Beignets have way too much sugar for me though. Might not be a beignet person, thats okay.
Service was polite, although marginally slower than many places. The food, when ordered, came out promptly. The place is decorated to evoke New Orleans and is very nice. Tables are spaced so there’s no sense of crowding even when busy. There is both public and private Wi-Fi, but I couldn’t tell if it was associated with the restaurant.
There is a small lot behind the restaurant which was full by the time I left. Additional parking is on street. They also have several bike racks available.
