If you’re pining after some of mom’s old fashioned good cooking, complete with delicious homemade pies, this is the place to go. A Niagara fixture since 1967, it’s been repeatedly recommended by locals, so felt it was time to check it out. Our server was very busy with multiple tables when we arrived for Sunday dinner, but she managed very well. It was incredible to see so many prime rib and roast beef dinners being served at surrounding tables – very impressive. The buns we’d been told were oh, so delicious fell short as were too hard for our liking, but the coleslaw was excellent. The mashed potatoes served alongside the roast beef were less creamy and whipped than we like, more dense, which was a wee disappointing as the beef was so tender and tasty. The gravy was stellar. I’m told the Yorkshire pudding was great (I didn’t try it). The senior’s fish and chips meal was good – apparently it’s also a very popular choice – fries were standard. The prime rib was excellent. Chicken Parmesan was very good. Some of our meals included pie; coconut cream and Dutch apple were a nice ending to a very nice meal. Reasonable prices. Lots of free parking and wheelchair accessible.

Second time at Betty’s and wow — how were we this late to the party? Not exactly a hidden gem, but definitely a polished one! Portions? Just right. Prices? Fair. Service? Like stepping back in time to when hospitality had soul. We’ll be back — and clearly, we’re joining the thousands already in the Betty’s fan club! ✨ #FoodieFinds #worththehype

I’ve heard about this place from multiple people in a city nearly 100km away, so I had to go and check it out.
Boy was I not disappointed one bit! My whole family ordered the prime rib dinner, it was cooked to perfection and was exactly what I want out of a prime rib dinner. We all also started with the roasted red pepper and crab soup. Generous amount of crab, in an overall tasty and hearty soup!
Finished it all off with a slice of peach pie. Magnificent!

We were also tempted by a blueberry cream pie to take home. I probably won’t be out this way again for the season but I’ll be happy when I make a return.

5/5

This is one of my favorite breakfast spots.
Like many brunch places, they serve bread, eggs, and potatoes, but you can really feel the warm heart behind the food.
They truly try to serve comforting, warm meals.
Today I came for dinner for the first time, and I really liked the dinner menu as well.
You can feel the care in the food, and all the staff are very kind and welcoming.

Great old-school diner with amazing lightly breaded fish. The rolls are to die for! Look like muffins.

Our first time here. When we arrived the owners are the front were so welcoming. We didn’t think we were dressed well enough as we had comfort clothes on. Food was excellent. We had the prime rib. Our server Chelsea was amazing. She was friendly, prompt, had great knowledge of the restaurant. We will come back again and again. Thank you!!

Holy smokes! Let me tell you about Bettys!

My bestie’s mom organized her surprise 40th birthday party. Originally we were going to go to a different restaurant because they have the bloomin onion but after seeing the reviews for that location, her mom switched to Bettys.

When setting up the reservation, the gentleman (Joe, maybe?) told her that he would make a blooming onion just for her.

Upon arriving, they had the table set up beautifully for our party. And the servers were incredible from the moment we arrived right until the moment we left.

And the best part, not only did he make a blooming onion for our birthday girl, he made an extra one for the rest of our party to try! And it was delicious!!!!

Our party was pretty big and the service was on point all night. My husband and I ordered the roast beef dinner with dessert. Roast beef 10/10, Mashed Potatoes 7/10 – maybe a bit more butter in them would elevate to 10/10, carrots/peas for me 0/10 for texture….but my husband didn’t seem to share that experience and he ate my serving and his own. I feel that they were slightly overcooked and rubbery. But again…that could just be my experience.

Now…the real MVP of the food…

This restaurant makes like 9 [or more maybe] flavors of PIE!!!! EVERY. SINGLE. DAY.

Huge slices. Wide variety. And ABSOLUTELY mouthwatering delicious!

Affordable. Excellent quality, portions and options.

And a fantastic atmosphere. Service was stellar from everyone we encountered. Food came in hot and in a reasonable amount of time.

Thank you so much for a great experience. If anyone is looking for a great spot to eat dinner, this is the place to be.

Overall it was a fabulous experience. This time I ordered the turkey dinner, it was delicious! Usually I order the fish and chips. The pie selection is extensive. Had lemon meringue. Others at the table had pecan pie, coconut pie, apple crumble pie, cherry pie. They were all very tasty.
The reason for the low atmosphere rating was the woman’s bathroom. A toilet had overflowed. There was a yellow wet floor sign and water on the floor beyond the stall. The stench was disgusting. The washroom should have been closed and costumers directed to another washroom.

We hadn’t been in a few years so thought we would go. The staff were are friendly, the food was good however the coconut cream.pie and banana pie were horrible. I had heard so much about the pies being the best so we thought we would try it. The crust and cream on top were good but the filling was weird harden gelatin-like and the taste was bad. I have never had coconut cream.pie so cream less and hard. A store bought pie would have been better than this and I don’t like store bought pies.
We would.go back for sure for lunch or dinner but skip the dessert.
