Stopped late afternoon on way back from Poconos. First time trying the Turkey Dog and it was great. Me and the wife also had several Fry dogs which were terrific. She absolutely loved her wedge fries with cheese. Ive been to many many hot dog joints and you wont find a better one than Hot Rods. The owner is always polite and makes it enjoyable to come. The prices are also very reasonable. They have a nice menu including burgers and mozzarella sticks. Always a great experience

Hubby and I stopped by on the way to NYC. We are always on the hunt for the best chili dog. Let me tell you this place will not disappoint. The chili dog was amazing and the bun buster was even better. Not to mention the customer service there is absolutely amazing. Everyone is very welcoming. Would definitely go by again when in the area.

Quintessential Americana! If you have a hankering for a fast meal or a great hot dog, definetly worth the visit.
Owner recommended the fried hotdog. Evidently it is by the far the go to choice (about 7 out of 10 times the owners said).
Everyone, workers and customers, we’re friendly. The place was clean, service was friendly and fast and the food was good. What more is there to say!

This place is a hidden gem.
We had the smoked meatloaf grilled cheese, humpty dog, and the buffalo spare ribs. They were all fantastic. Kid friendly. Tons of milkshakes and ice cream to choose from. We will definitely be back.

I gave Hot Rod’s a try today. I haven’t been here since the new owners took over. I wasn’t a fan of their dogs before as they never had all beef.
Food came out quick and the woman at the counter was very pleasant greeting you as you came in and when leaving!
Today I ordered “the fryer dog” with brown mustard and onions. It was deep fried beef/pork. It tasted good and much better than before with the old owners. I prefer 100% beef which wasn’t avail (why it’s only 4 stars on food)
I posted the menu and I’m guessing they kept the “original dog” from the prior owner that is a boiled Turkey dog. Not a fan of that one.
I saw people posting you can get a chili dog here for under $3.00. Not the case any more. See the menu.
Good local place for me for deep fried dogs in a pinch. I like to make my own grilled Sabrett’s with natural casing 100% beef when u have time.

Stopped here for breakfast. Yes, you read that correctly. Breakfast. A bowl of milk and cereal can only satiate so much. HOWEVER, this was a solid, impulsive, and phenomenal choice. I had the opportunity to speak to a gentleman and a miss ma’am while stopping in and let me just tell you what an absolutely friendly and welcoming atmosphere that dynamic duo provide. I will gladly come back here alone, and/or with my family on days outside of work.

My 3 year old and I tried their “fried dog”, super tasty and passed the test of the biggest hot dog critic I know! The bucket of cars for the little ones was a hit! We’ll be back!

Husband enjoyed way more than I did. He got a burger (fried onion, ketchup, pickle), 1 chili cheese dog fried. I got dogs ketchup and pickle. I would prefer Hot Dog Johnnys any day over this. The young kid behind the counter was unfriendly and looked miserable.

I have been coming to Hot Rod’s since he opened in the 90’s. Though I do not live in the area anymore I make it a point to stop in every time I am near. The hot dogs here are unique. I highly reccomend the “works” dog, which has mustard, onion and a pickle. When you order fries, you get a BAG of fries. You can also get hamburgers.
