This was our first time dining at BBQ King, and we visited for a weekend lunch with family. One of the few positive was the spacious parking, which made it convenient and stress free. Overall, it is an decent place for casual family dining, though it is not meant for a fancy evening out. There is no special ambience , so it’s best suited for simple, relaxed meals.

The menu offers a good variety, including fresh juices and pizzas. We tried the fried chicken tikka pizza, which was actually very good and one of the highlights of the meal. We also ordered a barbecue platter, while some items were not as fresh as expected, the chicken tikka and kebabs were decent. The beef biryani was above average, and the mutton karahi was average, nothing exceptional, but acceptable.

The naan and roti were good, but the absolute standout of the meal was the halwa puri, which was excellent and clearly the best item .The owner deserves special mention for being very courteous, hospitable, and welcoming.

Overall, BBQ King is an average dining spot, I would especially recommend it for breakfast items, while the rest of the food is satisfactory but not outstanding.

I tried their pizza earlier and gave them a benefit of doubt, today I thought to try their mithai. I must say Pizaa was better. Mithai is super expensive for all this in the pic I was charged for 32$ and none of these were good enough even to taste again. Not going again there.

We had heard about this bbq joint in Garland and wanted to give it a try. We arrived around 1:30 pm. The location has easy access and ample parking.

The entrance area appeared as if it has not been cleaned for weeks. The dust and debris in the entrance area were visible and l will provide some pictures to validate that.

Here is the truth though, despite my odd observation about cleanliness issues at the entrance, i did not carry it with me inside the restaurant as i wanted to give it a sincere try and an honest critique.

Since it was a buffet setting, we quickly took a view of all the items in the chafing dishes and picked up our plates. The buffet items included several traditional Pakistani and Indian dishes included Beef Qeema, Biryani, chanay, paaya, beef nehari, chicken curry, saag, fried chicken, and chicken boti, halwa, gulab jaaman, Parathas, and naans.

Although food was hot and the variety was plenty, the food taste was of average quality by Pakistani food standards. The things i most enjoyed included paratha, chanay, suji halwa, and hot gulab jaaman. The plastic bowls for hot gulab jaaman and hot curry items is certainly not a very good idea, the restaurant management must look into it seriously.

Other items were below average. In particular, the chicken bbq had “that stench of chicken”, the saag was too bland and flat in flavors; the biryani was average. Hence I would not give this place more than two stars with lots of room for improvement.

Another observation is that the chutney was sitting on the side of the chaffing dishes as an “orphan bowl of something” ignored by everyone passing by, because no one could understand what it is. No helper came and asked us for drinks or in case if we need any help. It was as if they were there to pick up the used plates like robots, no emotions displayed, no connections built with customers.

Last but not least, our table had a sticky surface and while we were trying to enjoy food, we had multiple houseflies roaming on us and on our food like drones. It was quite a process to handle the situation. There were no shakers present on our table unfortunately.

Here are my two cents for restaurant manager – as a professional critic, I seldom encounter a situation where I enter a restaurant and not interact with helpers or staff; bbq king is one of the few places where i interacted with zero staff, in fact those who came to pick up the used plates from our tables did not talk at all – this was quite sadistic and un-socializing.

I think with little more efforts on food quality, food handling around the chafing dishes (tongs can be put on separate trays next to the chafing dishes instead of inside the dishes) , improving hygiene issues (cleanliness of areas around chafing dishes and clean dining table surfaces), training staff on customer service (interaction with customers instead of avoiding them) , cleanliness of restaurant floors and bathrooms and restaurant entrance and door surfaces and improved lighting would make your restaurant an amazing experience for the customers.

The purpose of this critique is to give you pointers to uplift your business- for sure, we plan to visit again and hope to see improvements.

The food was exceptional, capturing the true essence of Pakistani flavors. The Chicken Karahi was perfectly spiced and aromatic, while the Seekh Kababs were tender and charred to perfection. Paired with fresh, buttery Garlic Naan, every bite was a masterclass in South Asian comfort food. A must-visit for anyone seeking authentic, high-quality cuisine!

Worst place ever. Honestly today was a disaster.
We came at 6:30pm and they said buffet starts at 7:00pm. Fine. We said we can wait. But then the guy tells me I can’t wait in the main lobby, I gotta stand behind the cash register table because apparently if I sit in the main lobby I have to “pay more gratuity” since the table is bigger than for 5 people. What kind of nonsense is that??

I was being patient for no reason. Later I see groups of 3 people, 2 people just sitting in the main lobby on even bigger tables like it’s nothing. So why only me? Why only my family? Totally felt like they underestimate customers for no reason.

I didn’t say anything because my family was with me, but this was embarrassing and honestly insulting. It really felt like if you’re not from their nationality or don’t speak their language you get treated differently. I’ve never been judged by restaurant workers like this before.

Horrible experience. I don’t know how a place can treat people like this. I really hope the owner sees this because this is not how you run a restaurant. I will keep writing about this location everywhere I can. Never going back.

Thank you Kashif for personally coming to monitor the catering services at the Serene Event Center last Saturday. The food was absolutely delicious, with perfectly mild spices that everyone enjoyed. We received excellent feedback from our guests regarding the quality and taste of the meal. We truly appreciate your effort and professionalism.

I visited BBQ King after seeing that they offer almost the entire range of Pakistani dishes — from biryani and nihari to samosas, naan, and other traditional items. On the menu, it looks like a place that should satisfy anyone craving Pakistani food.

Unfortunately, the actual experience was extremely disappointing.

While they do have most Pakistani dishes listed, nothing — absolutely nothing — tasted even remotely close to how these dishes are supposed to taste. I tried multiple items to be fair, hoping at least one dish would stand out. None did. Every single item was completely bland, spiceless, and flavorless.

Pakistani food is known for bold flavors, layered spices, heat, aroma, and depth. Here, all of that was missing. It felt like the food was cooked with little to no seasoning at all. Even dishes that are traditionally rich and spicy came out tasting flat and dull.

The biryani had no fragrance, no spice, and no character — just plain rice and meat with nothing to distinguish it from basic cafeteria food. The nihari, which should be rich, slow-cooked, and deeply flavored, tasted watered down and lifeless. There was no warmth, no spice, and no comfort in it whatsoever.

Even simple items like samosas and naan were disappointing. Samosas lacked seasoning and crispness, and the naan tasted plain and stale. These are basic items that should be hard to mess up, yet they were among the weakest parts of the meal.

Beyond the lack of flavor, some items raised concerns about freshness and quality. Textures were off, and certain dishes tasted unpleasant enough that I stopped eating midway. Nothing tasted good. Not one dish.

The staff was polite, and service itself wasn’t the issue — the food was. A restaurant serving Pakistani cuisine should understand how these dishes are supposed to taste. Here, it felt like the recipes were either misunderstood or completely stripped of their essence.

If you are unfamiliar with Pakistani food, you might not immediately realize how far off this is. But if you do know what authentic Pakistani food tastes like, this place will be a major letdown.

Having a large menu means nothing if the execution fails across the board. Variety without flavor is meaningless.

I genuinely wanted to like this place, but based on my experience, I cannot recommend BBQ King to anyone looking for authentic, flavorful Pakistani food. This was one of the most disappointing dining experiences I’ve had, especially given how promising the menu looks
