The food was delicious, although the portion size was a bit small for the price. They offer two types of sauces—spicy and mild—and both paired perfectly with the tacos. Even though the restaurant is compact, it’s very well-organized. I liked that the water, cups, and utensils were neatly arranged in one area.Single restroom, but neat and well-maintained.

We were in town for the weekend and decided to pop in. So glad we did. I love a simple and well executed menu. Breakfast tacos are non existent in the Bay Area. I appreciated the presumably handmade flour tortillas. The texture and flour (dust on hands) made them feel like mom made them. The fillings were tasty. The salsas were both flavorful. Loved the queso, so yummy. Great coffee. Simple.

Overpriced for tacos with absolutely no seasoning ($7+tax a pop? Sheesh) and for the size of tiny street tacos…. The meat quality itself is good, though. Also the “hot sauce” was just salsa, no spice whatsoever (even for my spice intolerant husband). If you bring your own hot sauce, might be a game changer.

As someone who came to LA from the east coast for work, this restaurant went above and beyond to make my experience wonderful. The cashier was very knowledgeable and friendly, and the manager (maybe owner) was very nice when serving me, and the food speaks for itself. Highly recommend you hit this place up for some good tapas based tacos

We stopped by HomeState and had such a good experience. We tried a mix of breakfast tacos — 3 Neches, 1 Brisket, and 1 Frio — plus a Big Queso dip to share and their hibiscus lemonade. The tacos were fresh and flavorful, with the Neches (eggs + beans + cheddar) being simple but really satisfying, and the brisket one standing out as rich and smoky. The queso was creamy, loaded, and big enough for the table — definitely worth ordering.

The hibiscus lemonade was refreshing and balanced, not overly sweet. The place itself is a little on the small side inside, but they have outdoor seating which made it really enjoyable to sit, eat, and relax.

Overall: generous portions, great flavors, and friendly vibes. Perfect spot if you’re craving Texas-style breakfast tacos in LA.

Generous portions, great taco varieties, and quality ingredients. Especially get the queso! You’ll definitely want the large. We also got the brisket taco, the vaquero, and Tijuana panther. Highly recommend them all! The margarita is also pretty good. Nothing special since it’s a mix, but still a good addition to the meal.

Overall amazing experience! The breakfast was killer and so fresh. I love the staff here. They’re always friendly. From a branding perspective, they do an awesome job of creating a unique experience and vibe

I’ve enjoyed sitting outdoors and indoors, depending on time of day. Prices are fair. Especially because the tacos are bigger than average. If I’m not hangry, I could personally be good with one.

I rated it a 4 instead of a five because when I came back tonight for dinner around 6:30, my taco was had started to cool into the shape of the foil it was wrapped in, and didn’t taste very fresh. Yet, I still had a good time because of the staff. I’ll give it another shot. I think this place can and will do better. And even kinda cold, it was better than the one I’d just tried down the street
