I really wanted to like The Muddy Cow in Litchfield, but the food missed the mark this time. The onion rings were not fully cooked and had raw batter in the middle, and my goulash came out cold. That was pretty disappointing.
On the positive side, our server did a great job — very friendly, attentive, and clearly doing their best. Unfortunately, the kitchen quality didn’t match the service. Hopefully this is something they can improve because the staff up front were great.

Service was excellent! I had the Patty Melt and it was excellent as well. There happened to be a guy and his guitar playing some acoustic music which was an added touch.

Wow. This is the Muddy Cow. Downtown, Litchfield. One caveat, this is a four in the sports bar category. Great atmosphere. 2 for 1 special on beers great. Food… hit and miss… buffalo chicken wrap wasn’t great, but the Philly cheesesteak was a solid 5. Burger reviews at around a 4. Definitely worth the visit if you are in Litchfield.

One of the 3 worst restaurant experiences I’ve had. I’ve driven by for years and had others tell me I should try it. We had a basketball tournament in Litchfield and the team wanted to eat at muddy cow. We had a large group (10 adults and 10 kids), the place was maybe 1/3 full. Our service was terrible the waitress took our orders at three separate times and the adults ordered first then the teens and the kids table was last. Our food came out in 3 batches. Most at the adult table were done eating by the time the kids got their food but two of us at the adult table never got our food. We had to ask the waitress where it was. She brought the other adult his missing food but it was obvious it had sat under the warmer for 20-30 mins. The bun was completely dried out. He took the bun off and ate it anyway. I had to ask again for my food and it came out after he finished his. I hadn’t got my food for over an hour and 45 mins. Everyone including the kids had there food and was done eating by then. The waitress only refilled our drinks once in the 2hrs we were there and we had to ask for that refill. I had nothing to drink when my food finally did get there. I’ll never go there again and I’ll share my horrible experience with others.

Oh and I almost forgot… I think 3 out of the 5 bills were wrong and had to be fixed.

Our waitress forgot to place our groups order. After a 45 minute wait, and trying to get her attention, someone else came over so we could inquire about our food. We watched her place our order and inform us it was because 2 larger tables came in before us. No,they didnt. Plus everyone around us that came in after were served and leaving. It was over an hour. The food was far from good and my coleslaw was horrible. We were ignored by staff when trying to get their attention. At no time were anyone of us rude.

Muddy cow is a great place to go eat with the family. The food is great everytime we have gone. The staff are always helpful and willing to assist with requests. My kids like playing on the quarter machine, darts, and pool. This is a place that my kids talk about when we discuss where to go eat. I would recommend this restaurant for people with kids that want a place to go that had activities.

Food was decent but way over priced. The coleslaw served taked like feet and was brown, clearly old. Service was okay, but the waitress was moody and quiet, made us feel like a bother. Paid $13 for one drink and later my husband got a single jack and coke and was charged $25.50. Have heard other people say that the workers add their own tip, but didn’t think it was real until after last night. Will never be coming back again. So disappointed in this place, it has gone so downhill.

On a busy Thursday night, I joined our traveling high school tennis team with my daughter to get supper at the Muddy Cow. They have great WiFi, and a spacious area for eating. The VFW started a meat raffle and bingo while we were there, and the place got real busy!! In spite of that, the staff did great and we didn’t wait long for our food for 12 players and 2 coaches. Their Chipotle burger was incredible!! Bravo to the Muddy Cow! We will be back again.

Staff did an amazing job serving our group for my son’s birthday party today. They were very accomodating, the pizza was great, and everyone had a good time!

The food was not great, although the duck wontons and the were very good. But you can’t dislike a place that has 2 for 1 drinks all day, everyday! IDK how they can make money doing that, but I’ll happily mix up a couple Bloody Mary’s at their build-it-yourself bar! Cheers!
