If you come to Las Vegas or live here in Vegas and have not been to TasteBudz Creole Kitchen… don’t sleep on it too long.
Fabulous food, great portion size, the team working in here gives great service and helps you with the menu.
All the meats are tender and flavored to ignite your tastebudz!
I’ll definitely return!
There is ample seating and all the good jams playing as you enter the door. We are looking forward to our visit at the Phoenix location.
Update: Jerk chicken over rice, red beans & rice, greens and yams – I am quite impressed with this plate and I’ll tell you why. First of all, the food is seasoned and well balanced. Often times soul food is too salty or too sweet. This right here, is called balance! I enjoyed everything. The greens were perfectly tender just how I like them, however, my only critique is that more seasoning (not salt) be added and wish the jerk chicken came through a bit more. But, so glad it didn’t hit me hard like some places I’ve had!
The banana pudding was a surprise, because I thought there’d be more cookies, but instead there was fluffy pudding that seemed to have cookie blended inside? I could be wrong. However it was made, it was flavored well and I could taste the vanilla, banana and everything.
We definitely will be back to try more!
The menu itself is a bit confusing, but the staff did take the time to walk me through it, which I appreciated. I ordered the gumbo, which was $20.99 plus tax. It came with a bowl of gumbo and a side of rice.
Personally, I prefer my gumbo well-seasoned with that bold, traditional spice and depth of flavor. This one tasted more like gravy poured over chicken, boiled sausage, shrimp, and one crab arm. I was really looking forward to that rich, authentic gumbo flavor, and unfortunately, it fell short for me. I wouldn’t order it again.
When I went to get a drink, I realized there are no fountain drinks and no refills. Getting a drink was more difficult than it should have been — I waited about eight minutes. That’s when I started to feel like the cashier area could benefit from stronger, more experienced leadership and training to improve efficiency.
Overall, the atmosphere and customer service were pleasant, but the food and drink experience didn’t quite meet my expectations
The Cajun and Jerk Oxtails were flavorful and tender. Seasoned just right. The greens, Mac and cheese and sweet potatoes were the bomb!
To top it off we got a chance to meet Chef! The experience was phenomenal and I absolutely can’t wait until the Texas location opens. ❤️
Elote corn was just a bit undercooked but taste fine. It was the best part. It was NOT CHEAP!! The really bad part is I heard about this place from one of the owners (Trish) I met on a plane from Chicago. She was very nice & friendly. I love to support small, b.o. businesses but TRISH….☹️ it needs work!! On a positive note, the place was clean!
Oh, I ordered the lobster Mac n cheese, and the banana pudding ( more like cookies and instant pudding). The lobster and Mac is tasty. Haven’t touched the cookie pudding, yet.
The service was unacceptable and the food quality was abysmal. My party of six had a confusing and frustrating pickup experience, beginning with being directed to the wrong location (the online order failed to specify the correct address). After driving to the correct spot at 333 St. Louis St., a shared-kitchen concept, my order couldn’t be found. We spent considerable time sorting out the confusion: four of my companions’ meals were at the first location, and mine was completely lost. Forty-five minutes after I left, the restaurant called, claiming to have found my meal. Upon my return, the order was incorrect, and the quality was very poor. The salmon and shrimp were chewy and appeared reheated, and yams were substituted with cornbread. Despite the complimentary sodas and dessert, the entire ordeal and the final product were incredibly disappointing. I cannot recommend service to anyone.
