We dined in at Mooyah on State St in Madison around 9:30 pm on a Friday night. It was pretty crowded when we got there so we expected our food to take awhile. There were 6 in our group and we ordered a variety of shakes, burgers, and fries. I’m writing this review specifically to highlight the excellent and friendly customer service we experienced from every worker we encountered. I was not expecting friendly prompt service from a burger joint on State St., but that’s what I got. I feel terrible that I didn’t ask the name of the 2 lovely ladies I spoke to at the register to tell them in person how amazed we were with not only the friendliness and accuracy, but the speed of service as well. And now, onto the food. I knew nothing about this place walking in but have now seen that some compare it to 5 Guys. Let me just say 5 Guys could never! At 1/4#, the burger alone is almost 25% more beef than 5 Guys and $1.50 cheaper. And the smallest fries at 5 Guys are $5.59 while only $2.99 at Mooyah. Plus, the Mooyah burger comes with cheddar cheese rather than American. The burger was beyond delicious and the fries were out of this world! I would put it more in par with a Chili’s burger and fries than 5 Guys. Then again, even Chili’s is cheaper than 5 Guys! Definitely give this place a try if you’re craving a fast and delicious burger served with a smile! Kudos to the staff at Mooyah on State!

Absolutely great place! Their shakes are super thick and taste very good! Had the strawberry shake and enjoyed it, as it had a lot of flavor and a nice creamy texture to it. Definitely can taste that it uses real ice cream. Although I didn’t have a chance to eat the burgers and fries, it looks just as good as the shake! Prices are reasonable and the place is clean with plenty of seating.

Just ordered them uber eats. Frickin terrible!!! So disappointed. Didn’t get everything I ordered. The price for what you get is a joke. Spent $40 and I’ve had better food from McDonalds for cheaper. Will never order from here again. As an example I spent $7 on a shake that size. The other picture is a chip dip that cost me $4. Ridiculous. I created my own burger, so it was costly and as hungry as I was, it was bad. I use to live in Texas and lived by a Mooyah and it wasn’t like this. So if you want or are familiar with Mooyah just don’t go to this location

This was my first experience with Mooyah. I had never seen one before and that’s why I wanted to try it. I had a half pound double with fries and a mint chip shake. It was simply delicious. Fast food? Yes. Full of college kids? Certainly. The staff were effective and efficient and reasonably friendly. If you are looking for a fancy snooty gourmet type of place, this is not it – keep looking. But if you just want a good old fashioned fast food burger that tastes fantastic for a reasonable price, then this is the place for you… and me.

I have to say the burgers here are terrific. My family is made up of Keto/Paleos and Vegans and Mooyah takes care of all of us. The beef is excellent and the creativity to serve up a Veggie, Keto or Paleo burger is really appealing.

We were attracted by the menu, locally sourced ingredients. The set up is very similar to 5 guys. Friendly staff and clean accommodations. We sat outside and enjoyed our food. I found the burger to be a bit too salty, the queso is not what I expected it was thick and had no flavor other than salt. The chips and fries were really good!
