I don’t know where to start. I guess I expected to walk in and it feel warm and cozy but it felt cold and uninviting. The one and only thing that was great during this experience was our server Brian. He was always kind and attentive. Sadly I will never return to this establishment unless things drastically change. If I was Paula Deen I would take the next flight to Texas and make a visit because I would be ashamed to but my name on this place. The kitchen staff is not evening tasting or even looking before they let the food leave the kitchen. If they did none of it would of left except, the chicken. We ordered catfish which was soggy, chicken was okay but I have picked up better at the grocery store deli. Last choice of meat selection was chicken and dumplings. The bowl came to the table with only 3 dumplings in the bowl the size of a nickel to a quarter with no chucks of chicken only small shredded bits. I literally had to ask for more dumpling when the menu item is chicken and dumplings. Then found a piece of 2 inches of chicken fat in the bowl. The black eyed peas had so much salt it was terrible. Mac and cheese was over cooked noodles, no seasoning and dry. Peach cobbler would have been better out of a frozen dinner to be honest and the butter cake was not a cake at all. It was a quarter inch of sugar and butter slapped on a plate. I think this was by far the worst place I have eaten and I travel all around the world. Save your money folks and go to Cotton Patch or heck Lubys is better. Last but not least if you go to the bathroom and say hey where are the paper towels. Look under the sink on the wall three inches above the floor. Really?

My wife wanted to try this place so we gathered our friends and decided to give it a try. I called the restaurant today to try and get a idea of wait time. The first time I tried I chose the host line option. No answer and said no voicemails would be accepted. I called again and tried option 2, I forget what it was but I was able to get a hold of someone. I asked her how long was the wait and she said about 20 minutes then I asked if I could reserve for a group of 7-8. She had to put me on hold to check. 20 minutes later I was still on hold and by that time I was at the restaurant so I hung up. When I got there it wasn’t even busy. No line, no wait list and this was at 7:30 on a Friday evening. Why did I wait 20 minutes on the phone for? Absurd. Once we all got there we were seated within 5 minutes. I would highly suggest better phone etiquette for this place. I would describe the place as if HGTV came into Cracker Barrel did a make over. It looked nice and clean. Well decorated and classy southern looking atmosphere. Staff was really friendly and our waitress was really nice and professional as well. We were brought out biscuits that were slathered with a herb butter glaze. It looked like a yellow biscuits and gravy. It was really tasty and I could feel my arteries clogging up as I swallowed every bite. We decided to order fried pickles, fried okra and guacamole and chips. The fried pickles came out with literally 2 lines of 5 chips each. So if you have a decent size party think about getting 2 orders. The pickles tasted homemade and were very good. Not too sour and not too salty. The guacamole was decent. For $9 I expected more than 2 tablespoons of guac. We decided to do the all you can eat family style meal. That goes for protein and sides. ($22/ person with one dessert per person) If you have been to Babe’s Chicken House then you will be familiar with it. We chose Fried chicken, ribs and chicken dumplings. Fried chicken was good but nothing out of the ordinary. Ribs were sub par not fall of the bone. Sauce tasted like it came out of a bottle. Dumplings were ok and definitely not the best I’ve had. The sides were good but again nothing out of the ordinary. Just about as good as Cracker Barrel. Half of us got cobbler and added scoop of ice cream. The other half got chocolate cake with ice cream. The cobbler was ok but the driest I’ve had. It looked like slices of apple with sauce brushed on and a biscuit looking crust on top. The chocolate cake was actually a big piece of brownie. Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. It was the star of the dinner. Really good. I highly recommend getting it. We got our check and we were a bit surprised. It came out to be $40 a person. We paid about $20 extra for ice cream! $3 for a spoon of ice cream. Wish we were told when we ordered it. We thought it was included but boy were we surprised. Would I come back? Probably not. Both Cracker Barrel and Babes Chicken House are cheaper and serve the same kind of food that is better.

Overall it’s a expensive southern family dining for average food. I probably would not recommend but if asked about it I would say it is decent place to try if you are looking for something that’s celebrity endorsed/owned.

Me and my family went on 2 separate occasions the 1st was great exceeded my expectations the food was great we had the catfish porkchops roast the other table had chicken catfish and meatloaf. The meatloaf was nasty just looking at it you can tell it’s prepackaged stay away. The sides are great we had the sweet potatoes, greens, creamed potatoes, Mac n cheese, black eye peas and squash casserole (keep in mind each table gets 4 sides and 3meats during dinner). However on our second visit there was less of us so we did one table this time getting porkchops, roast and chicken the pork chops were way to salty. The sides were sweet potatoes, poppy seed salad, Mac n cheese, and greens. Sides were great. Server was terrible took about 20mins to get our drinks and bread. They were out of alcohol every drink that we wanted they couldn’t make because they were missing the liquor component that was a let down. The desserts were mediocre definitely didn’t get a home made vibe. Confused as to why the ooey gooey butter cakes are cold, would think they’d be warm banana pudding is a hard pass as well as peach cobbler. The chocolate ooey gooey was the fave. We could honestly do without the dessert on future visits. They haven’t been open long will go back in a few months to see if it’s improved. Pictures are from our first visit!

Wow ya’ll. Everything was delicious. The Geogia peach sweet tea was over the top. They serve family style. Don’t fill up on the incredibly delicious rolls they serve you before your meal. Nothing was better than anything else on the menu. Reasonably priced. Nolan provided excellent service. Enjoy. You will be going again.

Went for Mother’s Day. Tried for an early spot. Registered at 10:25. Dining opened at 11. Got our seat at 12:20. Waitress was really nice. Tables were comfortable. Cheesy garlic rolls were a good start. Then the peach tea was tasty. Food came pretty fast. We had roast and fried chicken mashed potatoes squash casserole cowboy beans Mac and cheese
Desserts peach cobbler banana pudding and butter cake. Non of which I thought was that great.
Bring your own Togo boxes. They do NOT offer any kind of to-go containers.
It was a good experience but I would never wait 2 hours to eat there again…the things you do for your mother ❤️

Great date night experience. My wife and I had a fantastic evening. The service was wonderful – great job Victor. Everyone was warm and friendly. The food was fabulous. I joked with the server that I didn’t know who this Paula Deen was but she sure could cook. At first he thought I was serious. Of course I know who Paula Deen is. And yes, the food was home cooked good. Everything was prepared to perfection. The catfish and chicken in particular were crazy good. Everything was refillable – All you can eat. Loved the refined contemporary southern atmosphere. Nice bright gift store with high quality merch was a fun touch.
Reading many of these reviews, I wasn’t sure if it would live up to the hype. It did however and we will repeat our visit soon.

Well, I love me some Paula Deen! I have been to her restaurant in Tunica, Ms SEVERAL times before it was closed. The food set up was great and EVERYTHING tasted differently and satisfied my taste buds, not only that, they posted her recipes on each item. I have never seen a Paula Deen restaurant empty as this one! The reason being is because they don’t follow her food recipes. I asked the manager about the Mac and cheese and why doesn’t it have a crust on top? He didn’t tell me they changed the recipe, the waitress did. The photo I have is of the apple pie, McDonald’s has a better Apple pie. This tasted like over an over cooked pancake with corn bread mixture. All other good I tasted was ok, not what I expected. I had chicken and dumplings, good; blackened fish, also good. They both had the same seasonings which made it hard to say they were both great together. The best dish served was cream corn.
