Tried several desserts and had mixed experiences. The key lime pie was excellent!! perfectly balanced between tangy and sweet with a smooth, velvety texture. It was easily the standout and shows what this bakery is capable of.
The coconut cream pie had good flavor, but it was very heavy on whipped cream and light on filling, which made it feel unbalanced. The chocolate pie was unfortunately very disappointing!!.It had almost no chocolate flavor at all and was also overwhelmed by whipped cream, leaving it tasting bland.
The red velvet cake was very good, moist with a great cream cheese filling that really stood out.
Overall, the cream pies seem to need more filling and stronger flavor, with less emphasis on whipped cream. There is a lot of potential here, especially given how good the key lime pie and red velvet cake are, and it would be great to see the cream pies reach that same level.

The cakes were so good I was halfway through before deciding to take pictures. The chocolate cake was decadent, dark, delicious, but somehow not overly rich. The perfect Matilda cake. Definitely the best I’ve had in Austin. The key lime pie was also to-die-for. Super tangy, but gorgeously buttery and rich to balance the acidity. The carrot cake slice was good as well, though not on the same level as the other two for me. The frosting was perfect, and the crumb was moist, but I’m not a fan of the shredded carrot bits that were present. That might just be a personal preference. It was still a solid 8.5/10. The others were just 10/10.

Best kolache I think I’ve ever had. Look at the cheese crisp outer edges!! The danishes are flaky and delicious. The cappuccino was less than ideal as it had that burnt flavor to it. Definitely coming back here.

I’ve been coming here for years and just realized I’ve never submitted a review. This is one of my favorite neighborhood bakeries. My favs are the chocolate cake, sugar cinnamon roll, ham and cheese croissant and coconut pie for my Granny. Today I went in for the croissant. The flakey butter crust practically melts in your mouth. The cheese and ham combo blend perfectly to create this breakfast treat. The service here is always professional and welcoming. There are several small tables and chairs outside. This particular area reminds me of old Austin. Its lovely to sit outside Quacks and enjoy your snack or beverage on a nice day.

Just went to quacks for some coffee and a vegan chocolate muffin. Coffee was absolutely delicious. Muffin was great too. I bought the key lime pie for a friend’s birthday from here a little while ago and it was a huge hit. Also, the staff were so friendly. I will be back

Amazing service even better treats! Their oatmeal raisin cookie, lemon bar and red velvet cupcake were phenomenalll. They didn’t last long enough for us to snap a pic. We also tried their vietnamese coffee and it was delicious. We live in Hyde Park and this was our first time trying Quacks but definitely not our last.

I used to come here when I was in college and I remember it having the best apple pie where the apple was sliced so thinly and it was great, but unfortunately, they stopped doing that for a pretty standard apple pie recipe – chunks, not sliced. I was pretty disappointed.
The cinnamon roll was good, but they don’t warm it for you and sure, they have a microwave you can use, but there’s no plates for it – I would have rather them had it behind the counter so I didn’t have to put the roll on a napkin just to get it warm.
I also got a hot chocolate here and read off of reddit that their hot chocolate doesn’t come out scolding – which was true, it was very drinkable when I first got it, but lost its heat pretty quick.
This isn’t like the Quacks I used to go to and I probably won’t be coming back.

After dinner at Curra’s, we walked over here to try the tiramisu + key lime pie- the key lime has a lovely tartness & the tiramisu is perfectly layered. The outdoor seating offers a view into the bakery’s kitchen. Good location, very walkable.

I’m so glad I finally made it to Quack’s! This bakery is a gem. I decided to try their chocolate cake and apple pie, and I wasn’t disappointed. The chocolate cake was incredibly moist and flavorful, definitely one of the best I’ve ever had. The apple pie was also fantastic, with a flaky crust and a delicious filling. Plus, the outdoor seating area is really charming – a perfect place to relax and enjoy a sweet treat. I’ll definitely be back to try more of their goodies!”
