Since 1991, we’ve been a Willimantic staple, sending our kind service, hand-crafted beer, and a menu of flavorful classics. We prepare each meal fresh ingredients and feature many items that are gluten free or reduced even our beers. Vegetarian and Vegan options always available. Our pub serves beverages after our kitchen closes.
Craft beers brewed on-site are served with hearty American fare in a 1909 post office building.

Set in the old U.S. Postal office, they’re known for the large selection of ale’s they carry. We stopped for lunch, the food was good, our waitress was attentive and the atmosphere was eclectic, as there was eye catching artistry in all sections of the interior. (note pic’s) There were 3 main dining area’s & a game rm. area too! Parking was a bit difficult, as we waited for a spot to open.

Nice atmosphere, great food, great people. I love spending an hour or two, no pressure, no plans just hanging out.
The sticky toffee pudding is to die for and I get it every time!

Great bar, got a fig martini, so tasty! On specials menu got a steak with truffle fries. Cooked medium, was really good. Played pinball in the bar, nice memory lane type place, a restaurant that welcomes families, and a place you can stay for 2+ hours.

If you find yourself in the Willimantic area, Willimantic Brewing Company (affectionately known as “Willibrew”) is an absolute staple that you cannot miss. Located in a stunning 1909 post office building, the atmosphere alone makes it worth the visit—high ceilings, historic charm, and a bustling vibe that never fails to impress.
The food menu is massive and consistently delicious. I highly recommend the “Mailman’s Loaded Nachos” or any of their signature burgers; the portions are generous and perfect for sharing. Their craft beers, brewed right on-site, are top-tier with a great variety of styles to choose from. Whether you’re sitting at the massive bar or in one of the cozy booths, the service is always friendly and efficient.
It’s the perfect spot for a casual lunch, a family dinner, or a night out with friends. Between the historic setting and the high-quality American fare, it’s easily one of the best spots in Connecticut. Five stars for great food, unique history, and local character!

The food was awesome. Everyone in our party loved their food. But…… the waitress only stopped to ask how we were doing once after we started eating, then didn’t come back again to clear the table. That’s when I was able to ask for a refill on my diet soda. I say soda because it tastes like root beer, not cola.

Not a single complaint to be made. We pulled in to the parking lot 10 minutes before opening and there was already a lot full of people waiting. We walked in and were seated immediately and I couldn’t stop looking at the architecture and pictures on the walls. What an awesome use of an old historical building. Our waitress came right over and helped my husband but I couldn’t decide so she has me pick 3 and brought me samples. She was very knowledgeable of the beers and I found one I loved. They have so many different and interesting choices. Next was the menu with so many awesome options. I can’t say more about how good all the food looked coming to the tables around us
and ours was absolutely delicious. The prices are also descent compared to other spots. I really can’t wait to go back and try the wings and pizza. Great stop on the bike or out with friends after work and very kid friendly.

This restaurant and pub brewery is located in a large, historic, 1909 U.S. Post Office building. I love when old buildings are reclaimed and reused. The building was grand and made of limestone and granite. The pub is where the customer lobby was, the large dining area was the post office work room, and the Postmaster’s office is used as a private dining room. There were plenty of parking in the back too. It’s across from the Town Hall and is wheelchair accessible.
We came here for an early dinner. I entered through the pub which is not the main entrance. There were two employees standing there but didn’t acknowledge me; they just kept conversing with each other, the guy made eye contact but he didn’t greet me, weird and rude. Anyhow, I flagged down a server (it was 5 minutes of waiting at this point) and they were super nice and told me the hostess is at the back entrance.
There is a handicap accessible ramp at the back entrance. The hostesses and waiter were very nice and prompt. I love the decor and the high ceilings. The old remnants of the post office was evident.
The place was packed but we were seated quickly. There are high chairs and a kids menu. Since it’s St. Patrick’s Day weekend, there were plenty of specials. We got our kids Mac and cheese. I got an espresso martini to start and a Shepherd’s pie. I finished off with an Irish coffee. The drinks were great! The food was also good. My husband raved about his burger.
Aside from the initial first impression of the place, our experience turned around for the better, overall. I would definitely dine in again but maybe train the bar staff with some more customer service etiquette.

Made a reservation for a large family get together, which did include more children than adults. Staff was very helpful and attentive to the children. It had a very gracious atmosphere, and this was much appreciated given our large group. We had plenty of space and did not feel rushed by the staff. The food and beer options were extensive, and they actually had an impressive children’s menu. Portions were generous and service was timely. Prices were really fair as well. I hope Willibrew continues to be successful.
