I would like to know why I was charged $32 when my food was $24. I ordered ox tails plant small $19 and beef patty $4.99 I understand tax but goodness. The food was ok it was sweet the rice and beans were good cabbage and oxtails had a very sweet taste and they were fatty. Despite the over changing this is not a place that I would go back to giving that the taste of the food is not what I’m used to. It’s not bad it’s just not what I like.

Over the last few months I’ve tried this location three different times because the jerk chicken wings were amazing on my first visit. Unfortunately every visit after that has been frustrating.
First visit: The lady at the register was snippy when I asked questions about the menu, but the wings were excellent. The shrimp curry, however, lacked flavor.
Second visit: I was told there was no chef and they couldn’t make wings. I ordered the only item available for my wife, then drove to their other location—only to be told again there was no chef. I ended up getting wings next door instead, which were great.
Third visit (today): I went in around 1:50 PM and was told I couldn’t get wings because there was no chef. They told me to come back in 30 minutes. When I returned 45–50 minutes later, a different staff member came out and again told me there was no chef.
At this point it seems like they’re serving limited food without a chef on site, which would explain why the last meal we ordered tasted off—likely reheated or from the previous day.
If you’re coming here specifically for wings or fresh food, call ahead. The pattern of “NO CHEF” has happened on three separate visits now, and it makes it impossible to rely on this place despite how good the wings are when they actually have staff.

I ordered a large brown stew chicken plate and it didn’t look like a large so I showed staff and they stated a small is 3-4 pieces and a large is 4-5 pieces. I got 4 very small pieces. My 1 and 2 year old ate the entire meat portion and spent just under $30 for my entire order. Just don’t waste your money ordering the large, you’ll get the same portion for a small.

I placed my order today at 7:30 PM through the irie nation app for pick up at the north Tryon location. I showed up to pick up my order at 8:15 and the lights are out in the whole restaurant and there are seemingly no employees around. If you’re going to be closed, then you need to make sure that you are not accepting orders through your app. I will be requesting a refund. Actually, in all honesty I deserve a refund and the meals that I ordered because I’ve been inconvenienced.

I orders White meat chicken and garlic, dark meat, chicken no peas with the rice gravy was too sweet. This is not what I ordered. They don’t answer the phone up there. The service is going inside is terrible and we paid a lot for our DoorDash meals my husband and I and was very disappointed and overcharged.

I’ve been coming here for over three years, enjoying the jerk chicken, rice and peas and cabbage however, today’s experience was extremely disappointing. The flavor on the chicken has changed, the sauce is different. Nothing tastes as authentic Jamaican as it use to. No spice, no heat just bland. I hope they’re not whitewashed but I’m very disappointed.

Ordered this past week. Food way too spicy for me and my children. Also, my order was incorrect . I paid extra for Mac and cheese, plantain and coco bread .. never received it. Instead I was flooded with rice and beans and again TOO SPICY !
