Went today for their sushi lunch special for two rolls. Ordered a BLACK DRAGON ROLL. When I was given my rolls it was definitely not a black dragon roll, there was no barbecued eel or eel in general. It literally was just imitation krab, cucumber, and avocado. In what world is this a black dragon roll? I questioned the server who then said “that’s not what we give with the lunch”, so this is false advertising? Then a few minutes later another employee came over and explained to me what a black dragon roll is like I couldn’t look on google or have never ordered one before. Upon reading other reviews it seems they are cutting corners to save money/ make more. The place was sticky, musty and the bathroom was disgusting. My friends Diet Coke was flat and the water had a weird taste to it. Our food took 30+ minutes to arrive for three rolls and they weren’t busy at all. I used to love this place, but never again. Attached are some pictures of BLACK DRAGON ROLLS.

I want to say for the price of their foood, I am disappointed, and upset with the service we received from Kumos, and might I add the rudeness of their staff!!

You guys have the audacity to charge all this money for hibachi and make everybody who doesn’t eat hibachi, eat hibachi when someone is scheduling for an event. Not all kids that come to a hibachi meal, want to eat hibachi and you guys shouldn’t be forcing kids to eat hibachi if they want to just eat sushi instead.

I say all this to say this, I booked my daughter a reservation at Kumo’s Japanese steakhouse on Dani Drive for her birthday and we hated it. And the pictures that I am posting, there needs to be something done about this, if the bathroom looks like this, I can only imagine what the kitchen looks like!!

Yo guys don’t care about your customer’s health, you care only about a Buck$

Overall, I had a positive experience dining at Kumo. The food was good and the service was excellent! In terms of our Chef’s performance, it was OK. The steak wasn’t seared, some tricks didn’t work, and the chef’s customer engagement was sub-par. The prices are lower than in most Hibachi restaurants and they add an 18% gratuity to all party sizes.

Absolutely loved our experience at Kumo Japanese Steak House & Sushi!
The hibachi show was fun, entertaining, and perfect for a family night out. Our chef was super friendly and skilled — the fire show and tricks made the whole table laugh. The food was delicious: the steak was tender, the shrimp was perfectly cooked, and the fried rice was amazing. Portions were generous and everything came out fresh and hot.

The staff were welcoming from the moment we walked in, and the service was fast even though the restaurant was busy. The sushi was also very fresh and beautifully presented.

Overall, a great place for birthdays, celebrations, or just a fun dinner. Highly recommend! Definitely a 5-star experience!

What a delightfull place to enjoy a really good meal! The food was really good, tasty, fresh, and plentiful. Also. our waiter Ricky was very efficient and friendly. There is a separate area for hibachi dining. It’s definitely worth going back to.

The food was amazing, I ordered takeout and it was ready by the time I got there. Everything was super fresh. Will definitely come back again.

When we went into dinner problems started from the beginning. I didn’t realize the other individuals already sitting at the grill had already ate their salads AND ordered. Had I known that, I would have asked to sit somewhere else bc then I was rushed to figure out what I wanted and help my son and my little sister. I have the server and another guy working there pretty much standing over my shoulder rushing Me. I asked if we could possibly move so we didn’t hold up the other couples and so I was not rushed. The server responded and said, “well how long are you going to take? Just a few minutes?”

I ordered a glass of red wine and my sister & son got sprites. When they got their sprites, we were immediately disappointed because it tasted like mildew. It was so gross. So, they switched it out for a coke which still tasted gross but not as Bad. My water tasted like it was pulled straight from the lake. Actually, I believe lake water tastes better. I asked the server if she had bottled beer because my wine tasted like the bottle of red wine had been sitting open for a week. At that point I was grossed out and didn’t want to drink anything that was not bottled.

I received my sushi, soup, and salad as the cook was coming out, so again felt rushed. ALL THREE of our salads were sitting in a large puddle of water. I showed my server my Groupon AND told her it was my sisters sweet 16 and she asked to come here for her birthday. She said yes I got it. WELL, she did NOTHING for her birthday.

“The chef,” supplied NO entertainment! We are frequent visitors of hibachi, so we are familiar with how it works. The chef usually entertains, just as the chef at the table next to us was doing! I usually have sake and the chefs usually do lemonade for my son. We had none of that. I had to Ask about the sake because I saw it at the other table. He says he does it at the end. I had sake at the end before he walked away and half of the shot was air because the bottle was empty.

This was by FAR the worst hibachi I have ever had. This started when walking in the door, the service, the chef, NO MANAGER on duty.

Kumo was actually somewhere a family member recommended while we were here on vacation AND a place we’d frequent back home. But I will be sure it is never recommended again.

UPDATE: 12/11- No manager on 12/10, so they were supposed to call me the next day. Never called. Therefore I called around 2pm on 12/11 I was offered a gift card 10 times, disregarding me telling him EACH time I do not live here! Then, after continuously telling him no to that he FINALLY offered to take care of 20% of my bill. However, he wanted me to drive back to the location, 1 hour away, to insert my card and get $20 refunded. I thanked him for his time & let him know that it would be a waste of my time and gas and another inconvenience for me to drive back there for $20. He was so lost and did not know what to do. Worst customer service ever.

I just ordered the Kani salad which I’ve ordered many times and it’s never been like this, so I called and was told I’m wrong. Clearly I don’t know what I’ve eating. Anyone see a cucumber in here. This is totally different than what I’ve received before but I guess I’m crazy

Very disappointed with the service at this establishment. I had friends come to town which one of them had never done the “hibachi show”. We were very excited to enjoy a nice evening out. We arrived around 6:30pm and there was a group in front of us and they were seated. When we got to the host, she stated, “it’ll be awhile but I’ll check for you but you can have a seat at the bar and we will let you know.” A few minutes go by with multiple staff members walking behind the bar to get their guests drinks at tables. It is just 3 of us at the bar at this point. 15-20 minute go by and the host tells us 10 minutes and you’ll be seated. Fantastic….well that did not happen. At this point 25-30 minutes has gone by and the bar is full at this point. No service. We finally asked the gentleman and he said 1 minute. Came back and got us 1 thing, charged us and left. HE LEFT ALL OF THE OTHER GUESTS HANGING. At that point, we’ve been there almost an hour 10 minutes. We decided to leave and not come back. Embarrassing to say the least and will not be back. Be aware.
