Sometimes what doesn’t shine from the outside is actually gold. And that’s true for this restaurant. Very humble exterior but once inside you are in a place of outstanding service and delicious foods. For both visits we luckily got the same server. She was knowledgeable and friendly, helping us pick the best wine and food for our preferences.
Definitely a great experience for anyone looking for authentic Italian cuisine with down to earth experience.

This place is amazing…some of the best Italian I’ve ever had. They make everything in house, service is top notch, and very reasonably priced for the quality. Would highly recommend! We had the lasagna, eggplant Parmesan, pasta Bolognese, and the pappardelle amatriciana. Would recommend all of it because it was all delicious!

I drove to this quaint little restaurant in Smyrna because someone told me it was the spot for authentic Italian. Authentic? I couldn’t say — I’ve never been to Italy. What I can say is I ordered the lobster bisque, calamari, and seafood pasta, and every dish managed to be impressively… average. The bisque was more like a thin soup. The calamari was big, chewy, and probably would’ve bounced if I dropped it. The seafood pasta? Let’s just say the marinara tried its best.

Having visited the Marietta location in the past although it had a different menu, staff and owners, that location had left a lasting impression on me. Such was the case that I made the journey to Smyrna to try this location and I’m glad I came. Mezza Luna has a special place in my heart, the location is homey, calm and peaceful. The staff was very friendly, Jill was my waitress and she was very helpful in regards to my questions regarding my food allergies, she gave me great suggestions, wasn’t pushy, yet very attentive to my needs, my drinks and being available when needed. I had the opportunity to speak with the chef and the owners and I’m glad I did, it gave me the confidence in having picked this place to dine at. The food. Well what can I say, I couldn’t have asked for anymore freshness than what I had. I started off with a creamy Tomato Bisque soup, not too thick, not too thing just right. The salmon was delicious, grilled with a lemon juice zest that was the perfect balance between flavor and smell, the pasta was soft and tender, the vegetables were so juicy, I wanted to lick the plate from how good it was. The focaccia bread was crispy yet soft, not dry and yet just enough texture to keep reaching for more. I rounded it out with an espresso to carry on through the rest of the day. Need I say more? I think not. If you like a well done authentic Italian meal, with a lovely venue, friendly staff and a good time, try them; you’ll thank me later.

If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. Everything about this was 10/10. Our server Rick was OUT OF THIS WORLD. Some of the best service we’ve ever received. Great recommendations and was SO friendly with our kids. We were visiting from Toledo, OH and decided to stop in for some lunch and it did not disappoint. We had appetizers, desserts, cappuccinos, and entrees. Everything was so delicious and tasted so handmade, fresh, and made with LOVE. Compliments to the chef who also came out and was checking on tables, taking care of the restaurant exterior upon closing, and more. Such a hidden gem.

While in Atlanta we decided to try out Mezza Luna and the only thing I can think to say is WOW. The food was simply delicious. Our server Rick was the nicest person I think I’ve met in a very long time. He went out of his way to make sure my family and myself had everything we needed and then some. Thank you Rick. Hope we cross paths again. Not to mention the desserts were to notch. Everyone there was super nice and a great atmosphere to be a part of.

My family and I visited on a Sunday early afternoon. We received a warm greeting and were seated promptly. We were served fresh bread and sparkling water. Our host Rick was very polite and friendly. He made us laugh and also recommended a very nice wine to complement our entrees. We did have calamari for an appetizer which as very good. My dish was the risotto ah fungi and I added shrimp 10/10. My toddler gad spaghetti and meat sauce which she loved. We will definitely be back for the amazing service and fresh authentic food.

We had an amazing experience at this restaurant, and a huge part of that was our server, Ricky. He truly went above and beyond to make our night special. From the moment we sat down, he was attentive, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. His appetizer recommendation was absolutely spot on.
He checked in just the right amount and made us feel genuinely welcomed, not rushed or overlooked. It’s rare to find service this thoughtful and professional. He turned a great meal into an exceptional experience. We will absolutely be coming back and asking for Ricky again. This was hands down the best service we’ve ever received at a restaurant by far. Mezza Luna is lucky to have him.
