Came on a Tuesday night right at 5, it was very empty. I only saw one other group eating in the dining area. We waited 5 minutes to be seated no one ever arrived to seat us. We went ahead and sat at the bar. Service was slow. Bar tender was nice but distracted. We ordered hush puppies and some sort of chicken queso dip, I can’t recall what it’s called on the menu. These two items taste, okay
The dinner was not okay. We ordered the sampler platter that came with 3 sides. Our choice collard greens, baked beans and a loaded baked potato. The greens had sugar in it! Noticeably sweet, never tasted anything like that nonsense. The baked beans we’re double loaded with sugar and had no other flavor profile like smoky bbq or maple, just sugary. The baked potato was okay. The meat platter, was dismal. Everything was dry, extremely dry. This was the most disrespectful bbq I’ve ever seen. Looked like 3 day old meat left on the counter. The food was not hot either I ordered a bbq cobb salad with the pulled chicken. It was the same dry chicken on the platter. Literally left the restaurant hungry because nothing was worth the calories.
UPDATE 3.8.26…I see mgmt has responded to other low ratings after my post seeking contact to rectify the situation. Some of those other posts didn’t even have reviews with details just left 3 or less stars. Interesting. Anyhow my review drops from 2 to 1 because the decidedly skipped addressing my review even with the details and pictures.

Great vibe and great service from the waitress. I am very disappointed, however the quality of the food. We started coming here over two years ago, and the food was much better. The brisket was also really overdone. The best two things we ate was the mac & cheese and the baked beans.

Visiting the area and found Barrel and Boar. What a pleasant surprise!!! Great location, especially sitting outdoors. Great service and awesome food. Hush puppies are delicious. The brisket BLT is just great!!!! If you’re in n the area, don’t skip this restaurant!!!

For it being a slow night with what appears to be a full staff the food is coming out pretty slow. Definitely slower than I expected. That said our server is great, the food is good and the place is nice.

We chose Barrel and Boar for my son’s rehearsal dinner which took place last Friday night. We’re so glad we did. From start to finish, the process was easy. This was especially important to me since I was planning the rehearsal distance from afar – in Franklin, Tennessee. The interior space is casual and tasteful. Melissa handled all my email inquiries and was prompt with her thorough responses. We had 47 guests who fit perfectly in the back portion of the restaurant which overlooks the patio. The food was outstanding. Everything was delicious. We opted for pulled chicken, brisket, brussels sprouts, and their beautiful goat cheese salad. Melissa kindly worked with us to offer alcoholic beverages within reason. Coryn and Sunni were the servers for our party, and they couldn’t have been more pleasant and accommodating. The whole experience was a relaxed and happy addition to our glorious wedding weekend. Melissa allowed me to set up for the event on Friday at 11am, which was a big help since we had to be back in the area at 4pm for the rehearsal at Gahanna Sanctuary, the wedding venue. I have nothing but positive things to say about Melissa l, Coryn, Sunni, the chefs, and the entire staff at Barrel and Boar. It was a fabulous, turnkey experience, and we even ended up with leftovers to enjoy!

Our server, Lola, made the whole experience great! She was so kind and patient. I had a party of four with two kids and she was great with the kids and with us. Our service was excellent. She checked on us constantly, was courteous and enhanced the experience. The food was great. We had been here before and were pleased but this experience was so much better.

Made an unplanned stop and we were pleasantly surprised. My wife had the pulled pork, I had the pulled chicken. It was fantastic. Great service by Misty, too. 5 stars all-around!

I really enjoy going to Barrel and Boar with my fiancé! The service is always great, quick, and of course the food is to die for. I really like the BBQ salmon. I also just love the atmosphere- it’s cozy! I always look forward coming here for a date night. The location is also convenient!

Great food, great service, great atmosphere! Located in Creekside Plaza, with plenty of outside seating by a fountain and the creek. Lots of great menu choices, featuring barbecue items but also some vegetarian options. Nice cocktail and wine list. Our server, Taylor was attentive and did a great job. The manager was quick to seat our group of 10, even though we arrived without a reservation.
