Aladdin’s Cafe never misses.
Have you ever been asked the question: “If you were stranded on an island and could only take one food with you, what would it be?”
My answer? Without hesitation — Aladdin’s Cafe.
And let’s be real… if I could afford it, I would eat here every single day.
The food is always incredible, but this time the customer service truly went above and beyond. I ordered through DoorDash and got the appetizer sampler (which is amazing on its own) plus extra dolmas—fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care.
What really stood out, though, was how thoughtful and kind they were with my order. That extra effort did not go unnoticed and honestly made my night. It’s rare to feel that level of care through a delivery app, and it says a lot about the people behind this place.
While there are several similar restaurants in KC… don’t even bother — go straight here. It honestly doesn’t matter what you order; it’s all good enough to write home about, and you won’t regret it. And do yourself a favor and add on a Rose Lemonade — trust me.
Consistently delicious food + genuinely great service = a customer for life. Kansas City is lucky to have this spot. I’ll be ordering again very soon.

My favorite place to stop by for Turkish coffee before work! I even bring my dog to wait on the patio. It’s so fast I go every time I have to visit KU with a patient. Perfect for a nurse on the go. The food is the best Arabic food I’ve had yet in the metro.

This is one of my favorite restaurants! I haven’t been since before 2020. Just was able to visit again and just as good as I remembered! The restaurant accommodated a food modification for us. Service was excellent! We had the shawarmah platter, lentil soup, and tabouli salad. The rose lemonade was refreshing!

I recently visited Alladin Cafe, drawn in by its rave reviews and the promise of a delightful Mediterranean dining experience. Upon arrival, the cool and inviting ambiance immediately set a positive tone. The decor is chic and modern, creating a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere.
The meal began on a high note with a selection of appetizers that were truly exceptional. Each bite was bursting with flavor, leaving us eager for the main course.
However, our enthusiasm waned when the main dishes and the salad arrived. To our surprise, they fell far short of expectations. The flavors were underwhelming, and the dishes lacked the deliciousness we anticipated.
Service was another disappointment. Our waitress seemed preoccupied and inattentive. Despite requesting plates, they never arrived, which further dampened our dining experience.
Overall, while the appetizers and ambiance were commendable, the main courses and service left much to be desired. It might have been an off day for the restaurant. Based on our experience, I would recommend visiting this place perhaps once, but with tempered expectations.

I had ordered catering from Aladdin Cafe for a group of friends before, so I knew they were great. I wanted to take my wife here.
We had an engagement right down the street so this was the perfect time.
We had the grape leaves, hummus, tabouli and kifta plate. It was all great!
We both agreed the hummus is among the best we’ve ever had. We prefer it to be tahini heavy (rather than garlic or spices) and this one is. It’s creamy and perfect. Beautifully presented!
The tabouli was HUGE! I wish they had a half portion. It was too much for 2 of us. But absolutely delicious!
The grape leaves were good, but nothing special.
The kifta plate was excellent!! Wonderful ground beef mixture and just what one expects with this classic dish. Steamed vegetables and rice with a mousses on top were a perfect complement to the beef.
Service was quick and efficient. Glad we went early as the neighborhood gem fills up quickly on a Friday night.
5 stars. We will return and try more of the extensive menu.

Aladdin is the ONLY place to have the very best Mediterranean food in all of Kansas City. My family and I have been going here for many many years, and we have never had anything here that wasn’t perfect and delicious! The most recent… I threw my wife a birthday party for her 50th. I went and spoke to the staff at Aladdin a few days before the event. We wanted a family style meal for 12 to 14 people. The owner came out and we discussed it. We got salad (best salad dressings on the planet, for real), rice, gyro meat with veggies, perfectly soft pita bread, and a giant pan of the very best hummus, all of this made from scratch. I asked that it be ready at 2:30. We arrived at about 2:25, and the owner was just finishing up with my order. Everything was hot, everything was super fresh, and most of all, everything was absolutely delicious. I ordered for 12 to 14 people. We all ate as much as we wanted and we had plenty of leftovers for lunches for the next few days. If you’ve eaten here before, you already know how delicious it is. If you haven’t tried Aladdin and you’re thinking of eating here, you will love it! Thank you Aladdin for making my wife’s 50th birthday a huge success with the delicious food you made for us.
