This place is a hidden gem. I used to like to go to Famous Dave’s in Eau Claire, we tried this place about 4 times now. The food came out fast, the brisket was delicious, and the BBQ chicken has a great taste. The staff was friendly. We took our daughter here for her birthday.

Man, do they feed you! You know you are eating well when you walk in and smell good ol fashioned bbq. The portions are large and price was right. Seems like takeout was busy when we went, so it took a little bit for our food to come out. All the food was really delicious and flavorful. We will be returning soon!

my husband and I came here after an appt nearby and were soooo impressed. The food is amazing, the staff is so nice and helpful with suggestions. It’s a very chill nice environment and we can’t wait to come back! We live in the cities but this location in Hudson makes the drive out very worth it!!

I walked into Old Southern BBQ in Hudson and the first thing that hit me were the incredible smells of smoked meat. The cashier was super helpful—not only making sure he got my order right, but also pointing out the best way to order and letting me know about their Taco Tuesday special (buy one, get one tacos all day Tuesday).
I ended up going big: half slab of ribs, a half pound of brisket, 10 wings, a pint of mac & cheese, and a pint of baked beans. You order at the counter, grab a seat, and before long the food is brought right to your table. Sauces are ready to go at each table, and if you order extras to take home (like we did), they’ll even send you with some sauce to go.
At one point I misunderstood about cornbread, and the manager, Lee, brought some out at no charge. I watched him bus tables, greet customers by name, and even offer my daughter an Oreo cookie just to make her smile. Whether people were grabbing quick takeout or dining in, he made everyone feel welcome. That kind of hospitality is rare.
When we were done, the staff offered take-home containers and a bag without me even asking—another small detail that makes a big difference.
For background, I fell in love with smoked meats while visiting Kansas on a work trip, and since then I’ve been on the hunt for something comparable near home. Old Southern BBQ absolutely delivered. I’ll be going out of my way to eat here again.

The food has always been amazing! The BBQ is packed with flavor, and I can never decide between their brisket and pulled pork. It’s incredibly tender and just melts in your mouth. Their sides are also on point; my favorite is their sweet potatoes, but the mac and cheese and coleslaw are a perfect combo that takes the meal to the next level.
Every experience at Old Southern BBQ has left me smiling and satisfied. If you’re in the area and want some seriously good BBQ, this is the place to go! You won’t regret it!

Excellent service. The staff were extremely friendly.. The food was outstanding and there was a nice selection of BBQ sauces. Our favorite sauces are Southern Girl and Chicago Blue. We had ribs and pulled pork. The meat had a tender, smoky, and nice dry rub flavor. It was our first time there, but will not be our last.

Google reviews led us to Southern BBQ and man am I glad it did! The reviews do not lie. It was a great stop and place to chat with relatives we hadn’t seen in ages!
And the food? It tasted even better than it smelled! The ribs, wings and brisket were so flavorful and tender! I tried with and without sauce and there wasn’t a bad bite to be had.
When it comes to service, Lee is awesome! He knows hospitality and the importance of good service. He was welcoming, patient, enthusiastic, attentive and provided important nutrition info for a person in our party with celiacs.
Finally, it was a great value for the money spent. Portion sizes were generous enough that we have leftovers! We live an hour away but will be back on our next trip thru! Thanks for the awesome southern hospitality and delicious food!

1st visit. Good BBQ doesn’t need sauce and even though they have great sauces, it isn’t needed.
Bonus, I’m gluten-free and they knew what it meant, and what to offer.
