Passing through DFW and wanted a quick tasty bite. Reviews online was mostly good, I decided to find out for myself. This place seamed like a mom and pop spot. That’s not usually a bad thing. The service was not too welcoming, but I overlooked that. I ordered fish tacos. They were not lying when they say things are bigger in TX. Food was very tasty, no complaints. Our server Crystal was very friendly and nice. I would definitely recommend this place.

I am really a fan of El sombrero. I found out about them because they catered at my work multiple times and the food they provided was always excellent. So one day my wife and I decided let’s go have lunch and we were not disappointed. They have a very extensive menu and their food is authentic and excellent. Their service is also top notch. Making sure you always have everything you need. It’s good, authentic Mexican food at a great value. I highly recommend them. One thing I also like is their family meals. You can put in a phone call order a family meal pick it up on your way home from work and you’re good to go. We will be back multiple times. Love you guys!.

Forgive my 4 star rating only due to tortillas not being homemade. But otherwise hot and tasty food, wonderful service and the servings are gigantic.

This place has been consistently good for years. Between this and Arizola’s, you know you’re getting fresh food every single time. My favorite is the chicken fajita nachos, and the full order is HUGE. I love that they give you a bottle of salsa so you don’t have to keep bothering them for refills. The service is also amazing. It’s the type of service that learns your name and already knows what you’re having when you walk through the door. I absolutely recommend if you’re in the area!!

I appreciate the friendly and attentive service during our visit, which was definitely a highlight. However, the overall experience was mixed. The parking lot was chaotic and difficult to navigate, which set a rough tone from the start.

While my daughter enjoyed her meal, mine was unfortunately very disappointing. I ordered the chicken fried steak, which was served with a gravy that appeared to be cream of mushroom soup—an odd and unappealing choice that didn’t complement the dish. The potato wedges were green, had an off-putting taste, and a strong smell that made them inedible. I asked to substitute them and was brought what was described as a salad, but it was simply a few pieces of lettuce with a slice of tomato.

The rice and beans were the only part of the meal that was passable, though it was clear they came from a can. I had hoped for a more enjoyable experience, and while the service was kind, the quality and care in the food preparation were lacking.

Very impressed. Tried for first time around 5 PM on a Saturday evening and there wasn’t many customers. Was helped right away and the waiter was Shawn was very polite and considerate. The food portions were generous and reasonably priced. The kids chicken tenders were above par, along with our tacos and enchiladas. We will be back!

It’s a popular restaurant and a favorite of locals. Prices are affordable and seating is all good. It’s not a fancy restaurant but it is certainly a popular spot. You won’t be disappointed in selecting it for a 1-person, 2-person or a larger group meal service. IT IS SOOOOO GOOOOOD!!!

I have passed this place several times there were not many cars there. I happen to pass there tonight so a few cars so I thought I’d stop and place it to go order. Personally, I should’ve known by the dusty ceilings and ceiling fan and when I received a cup of drink in the cup that sauce typically comes in that should’ve been a red flag, but it wasn’t and I placed it to go order anyway. I ended up with beans on my food when I asked for no beans I ended up with cheese out of the bag that wasn’t even melted instead of queso, so much for peppers & onions right?!? I ordered queso and beef that was made with shredded cheese that was so greasy and later congealed (ir wasn’t even the color of queso)! No flavor what so ever! The kids barely could eat their meal because the quesadilla was smothered by the scoop of beans!! When I called, she said they don’t do refunds, didn’t even attempt to correct the order, the manager! I see why the place is normally empty. Don’t waste your time. Don’t waste your money. Nearly $57 gone down the drain. I will never again! I’m sorry but it was all TRASH!!
