Uncle John’s Pancake house has been proudly serving the people of Toledo, Ohio and the greater Northwest, Ohio and Southeast, Michigan area for more than 60 years! Originally founded in 1963, Uncle John’s is still going strong, and in the same location and building! As you can imagine through the years, we have developed many loyal customers that we prefer to call friends and family. For in fact it is common place for us to serve the grandchildren of patrons who first came in to Uncle John’s as children themselves. Very often we will have three generations at one table.
Comfy, time-tested eatery with nostalgic American fare, plus beer & wine, in kitschy surrounds.

This used to be our weekly breakfast spot, and the quality of food and service has gone downhill drastically. Today we were seated for a while then our waitress popped up behind us and asked “anyone want coffee? Yes? No?”. And that set the tone for the rest of the meal. Between being seated to receiving our meal, it took over 30 minutes. My dad never received his potatoes. Our crepes were covered in a mountain of powdered sugar that I had to push off to the side. The Philly cheesesteak had dry bread and overcooked salty meat. The pancake was so cold that the butter didn’t even melt. The over easy eggs that we ordered were overcooked and greasy. $60 worth of food before tips.
The table behind us literally walked out after waiting for so long without service.
Needless to say, we won’t be back.

At there old location they were great sold 4 stars everywhere. We have tried the new location several times now and after today’s. Meal we are done. Had a waitress that couldn’t care less about any of her tables. Half the food served was cold and the whole reason we was the portobello Benedict had huge egg shell in it (which they did comp). Can we please rewind time and make this a decent place to eat again.

This is the second time I have tried this place. The first time we tried it our pancakes, eggs, hash browns and bacon were cold and we had to send the food back.
After we got our food the pancakes were still cold and the food did not taste well.
Return today for a friend’s birthday breakfast. I ordered turkey bacon, scrambled eggs and hash browns. The food was not good, the turkey bacon was barely cooked and the eggs were not good. The hash browns were not bad.
You know there is something different when you go out to a place for breakfast on a Saturday at 9:00 am and the restaurant is not crowded. We were there talking until about 10:30 and there were only a few people there.
Never again for me.

I’ve eaten Uncle John’s for quite a while and it’s always been a culinary delight! The burger I had was particularly nice and the breakfast meals are always a treat! I’m grateful to have such a great restaurant so close to home. The wait staff was incredible as well!

Good place, good prices for a really good amount of food! I tried the eggs and chocolate chip pancakes which were absolutely fantastic! Eggs were perfectly cooked and the pancakes had just enough chocolate chips! My mom ordered the manhattan pancakes and johns potatoes and thought they were delicious except a little greasy. Nice atmosphere and good staff! first time trip here and i loved it!

We went for a late breakfast/brunch & ordered two different omelettes with their loaded hashbrowns and pancakes. The staff was so homey and friendly. It reminded me of the old town Southern charm of a family owned restaurant.

Little diner feel. Waitress was kind, and the food was priced well. I went with B&Gs, eggs, and French toast. Eggs were eggs. B&G’s we’re pretty good, but the French toast was delicious. I’m in town for the marathon, but I’d come here again if I were back in town. A good mix of local patrons and out-of-towners. Nice kid’s menu, plenty of parking, and I didn’t have to wait for a table.
