The service and atmosphere was great. However, the burrito meat was barley warm and reminded me of ground beef with McCormick seasoning you get from the store. It was one of the worst burritos I have ever had. Its a shame, the place and people are great. Avoid the beef there..its nasty. The chips were broken in tiny pieces and the ones that weren’t were stale. The prices are insanely low. I’d repeat because the staff and atmosphere were cool.

We were visiting T or C for a few days and were staying across the street and decided to check this place out. My friend got the #9 and I got the supreme pork burrito: both were delicious and filling. They also had a good lunch menu with lots of specials under $9. We arrived around 1145 am and there was no wait but when we left around 1245 there was a small wait as they only had the left side dining room open. Our server, Chloe, was top notch. She was happy to answer any menu questions we had and was great and checking up on us. There was also another younger server/ host gentleman that was also friendly and thanked us for coming as we were walking out. If you’re looking for a hearty meal with great service this place is worth checking out.

AWESOME SAUSE
Place looks so cool but ngl this ain’t Mexican . Me and my partner got different plates, and it look the same. As a Mexican, trust, don’t come here looking for a nice meal. Everything is covered in ‘red’ or ‘green’ sauce. Servers were great, soda crispy and seats comfy

Our valentines dinner her was wonderful! Atmosphere was comfortable, clean, and inviting. Food was delicious! I got the numero 3 and my husband had the ultimate enchilada. Both were delicious, large servings. The service was great! We were sat promptly upon arriving and our server was very attentive. The sopapillas were cooked fresh and giant. We will definitely come back here every time we visit T or C.

If you are passing through or live here, dont miss the opportunity to eat in this friendly, cozy, affordable Mexican restaurant. Beer on tap, full bar, super-sized fresh sopapillas for dessert.

I’m on a motorcycle trip across the USA and stopped here for a meal. I ordered the ribeye and could not believe how tender, juicy and perfectly cooked it was. Now mind you, I’ve had 19 ribeye in this trip so far across Oklahoma and Texas and this was 100% the best. The staff is super friendly and welcoming, the beer icy cold and best of all, they are right across the street from my hotel, the Holiday Inn Express.

The food was amazing! The best New Mexican food I have had in a while! The sopapilla was huge and delicious. They have real honey for the sopapilla and not the fake syrup. Brittany and Mandy had awesome service. Stop here to eat!!!

this place is a hidden gem!
best chile rellenos ever and large! same for tamale -one huge suggestion for the owner manager /place high quality speakers in the dining area ceiling -the music was great -but coming from the kitchen not good -you can hear everyone’s conversations and not the good music-you really need to do that for the ambience and raising the level of your extraordinary cuisine-

I only like to leave sub par reviews for very sub par experiences…and this experience was so sub par that they will never get my business again.

Let’s start the story off in early November 2024; a fellow traveler and I were told to go to La Cocina and we did. I found it to be underwhelming, but my friend enjoyed the spot, so we made it a fairly regular place to stop and have lunch.

Each time I would go to this restaurant I feel the food quality dropped off significantly…

I stop in today, January 2, 2025 and it’s my last payment to this restaurant. I ordered a chicken finger basket with onion rings, which sounded good to my appetite and it’s difficult to mess up! The food was inedible; the tenders cooked too long and were dry and almost too tough to bite. The onion rings were done on the outside and mushy-nasty on the inside. The oil they must have cooked this food in must have been dirty because everything tasted nasty.

I ate one tender and a few onion rings and I pushed my plate forward and told my green haired waitress that everything on that plate was off. She said she was sorry and she would tell a manager when they get in.

I don’t point out nasty food to get anything for free, but she didn’t even take my sweet tea off the check …

There are plenty of other Mexican options in the area and even a diner-type deal down the hill attached to a hotel. Do yourself a favor and try and eliminate a steadily declining, hit or miss kind of dining experience at La Cocina.

I even left the waitress that possessed Joker like qualities a 20% tip on an uneaten meal and a complaint. Those will be the last dollars ever spent at this restaurant.

I would have been better off with tenders from Wal Mart. How bad do things have to be to push chicken tenders aside? Yes, that’s bad.
