Wife and I decided to have Linner here after her afternoon Dr. appt. Being mid afternoon, we were one of three couples there…Our server Maria couldn’t have been nicer…She continuously checked on us and we talked for about….Devided to splurge and we got the spinach dip which comes with tortilla chips, It was pretty good…..I also ordered some crawfish balls to try with my love for cajun food….They were OK but I couldn’t taste crawfish very much…My wife ordered a 16 oz ribeye, medium well with a baked potato, fried okra…She finished everything but the potato…She was very happy with it all….I had there large Chicken Fried steak with white gravy, which took up most of the plate, fried okra, and grilled mixed vegetables…. The chicken fried steak was one of the best I’ve had…It was very large, not greasy, very tender, no grissle… The gravy was near perfect and they pair really well together….The mixed, grilled vegetables were perfect- broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, very tender, nicely seasoned, slight char. my other side was the fried okra which was excellent as well….Not greasy, coating was crunchy, nicely seasoned…..The helpings of all the sides were generous !!!!! We took home a pice of pecan pie and piece of coconut cream pie which were very good…Forgot to ask if they make them inhouse or not….We left with full, content tummies…. The steak prices appeared to be similar to Salt Grass- one our favorites…Look forward to coming back for more meals here…. Family Owned with many employees that have been with them for years. Food is good, tasty and always hot. Large portions and friendly atmosphere. Their back room is great for a family gathering. Recently hosting a work Christmas gathering. Can’t leave without a slice of pie. Randy. Kim and staff are the best!!!! Always our family go to place!!!!

I’ve been coming to this restaurant since June and have always enjoyed the food, but today was really disappointing. I ordered a chicken fried chicken kids meal, and they gave me chicken fried steak instead. When I brought it up, the manager refused a refund and told me I “shouldn’t be ordering a kids meal as an adult,” even though I’ve ordered it before without any issue and was ordering for my child.
She also insisted I ordered wrong, even though I clearly asked for chicken fried chicken. It felt dismissive and unprofessional. Mistakes happen, but refusing to fix it and blaming the customer is not good service.
I really liked this place, but this experience made me rethink coming back. Hopefully management improves how they handle situations like this.

Truly amazing restaurant!! The food is classic Texan fare, with outstanding chicken fried steak and phenomenal pies. On our most recent visit, we had chicken fried steaks and fried fish, with fried okra (delicious) and mashed potatoes as sides. Some of the daily specials came with mustard greens, as well as black eyed peas (sooooo good) and scalloped potatoes (very cheesy). Because it was a special, they also came with a slice of chocolate cake. Finally, they have phenomenal pies that you can order slices of, our favorites are the coconut meringue and chocolate meringue pies. The service is wonderful and personable, and it is truly a quintessential Texan tavern. If you are going for the first time, I highly recommend the chicken fried steak. It is the best I’ve had.

Steaks were ok, but not more than that. Can’t say anything good about side dishes or drinks neither. Based on other reviews I expected much more. I gave 4 stars only because of very affordable price.

Really cool locals place to grab dinner and a sweet tea or beer.
I had the fried shrimp plate with okra and fries. It was a lot of food and I was barely able to eat it all.
Service was good. They brought the food out quickly and checked on us often.
The restaurant is a bit dated but that adds to the appeal in my opinion.

Great place to eat. I usually come here and get the chicken fried streak or chicken fried chicken. It’s always delicious.The portions are generous with decent prices. You have plenty of sides to choose from. I love the fried okra! The service is always good . Highly recommend!

I went with 9 ladies and the guy drives the bus for lunch. We look forward to eat out once month. We were seated in the back room it was ok. Our waitress nice but didn’t speak English very well she was hard to understand. Got our drinks then she came back to get our order. She never came back to see if we needed refills or ice for our drinks. Our food came and it was hot an tasted great. Several of us asked for to go boxes and we got them. She knew we wanted separate checks. She did that. Never once were we told that tip would be add to our checks. I caught it on mine and told the other ladies. A few had handed her cash already. So she got the tip from the check and cash. Her service was not that good. We are a group of low income seniors who save to go to eat out once a month. This was not right. I will be checking my recipe from now on. Be awhile before I go back.

Had a great experience with our server Erica. Devious steak and porkchops. My favorite was the fried mushrooms. Only one steak was over cooked but Erica had it fixed for us right away. Lovely place to eat.

This place is perfect Texas atmosphere. The service is great. The food selection is fantastic. We had chicken fried steak and were not disappointed. It was delicious. Mac and cheese was excellent and fried okra hit the spot. Lety was our server and was very attentive. Good prices too. We will be back.
