We love Sam’s Log Cabin! The best brunch place with amazing food, especially the pancakes and the French toast. They have specials everyday and refills for coffee. All the seating is outside but with heaters and it’s a great atmosphere. There might be a wait on the weekends.

I had been wanting to try this place for a while and finally go to today. There was good and bad. Went for breakfast and was super disappointed in the coffee — this is a big deal for me and going out for breakfast! I also didn’t love that I had to get my own water and coffee. Just not my preference. I had a buttermilk pancake which was not especially good. I liked the outdoor seating area, but overall, I don’t intend to go back.

They have the outside porch ambience doing a lot for them, so much so that they really don’t care about the taste of their food. We ordered the chilaquiles and mac and cheese, both were just so bad, it spoilt our mood and started the day off so bad. I mean it is one thing to make a dish american-style and call it something else but its another to completely ruin it such that the customers feel cheated ordering it. Soggy tortilla chips covered in this super sweet ketchup-y sauce that even looks so bad, and tasteless mac and cheese is what we paid for.
A friend got the fried chicken sandwich which was the only decent thing on the table.

It had been close to 10 years since I’d been to the log cabin.
To start, I think that their bacon got even better. Proportions were more than adequate and exceptionally flavorful. Seeing as this dad covers the meals, I was pleasantly surprised (in a positive way) with the final tab and that they do not charge a fee for tables with more than 4 guests. That made it so much easier to tip in the upper 20% range. Will return soon. Thanks

I stopped going here ages ago because of the long waits for very minimal seating. Little did I know, they have closed the indoor seating and opened up their beautiful patio, equipped with heating lamps. No reservations over the phone but they nicely update you how the long the current waitlist is. We waited about fifteen minutes before being seated. To keep a good rotation of patrons, they are well staffed, ready to take your order. Nice little menu, marked with dietary restrictions. I ordered the seasonal veggie sandwich (perfect for the vegans) and she ordered the daily pancakes and orange juice. For lactose intolerant they have oat or soy milk. Food came quickly and it was perfectly delicious.
Great customer service, wonderful ambiance, street only parking. Bathroom indoors where their old dining was.

Nice place to get brunch. Seating is all outside, but a lot of it is covered so you can mostly get shade. Menu is not huge, but has good variety, with some good Mexican style options. Main downside is we tend to eat brunch on the later side and they’re usually out of scones by then, and if you can get the scones (varying flavors) you definitely want them.

Adorable!!! How I didn’t know this existed is beyond me!
My friend was in town from Tokyo pre-Folsom festival and we were looking for a lil breakfast, before driving to Pt. Reyes.
Did a lil search and this spot looked cute as a button. Rustic with a lil outdoor garden area to sit. I saw a stage, so I assume there is live music sometimes.
Anyways….food was great. I had grits and eggs…lovely. For my taste, it just needed a dash of hot sauce; but I always need a dash of hot sauce for cheese grits. I finished my plate in record time because I was famished.
My friend got the Reuben (I know …for breakfast?), but he said it was delicious and filling.
Fresh squeezed OJ was excellent and pulpy and the folks working were very kind indeed.
I definitely plan to go back to try their collards because they sounded like they’d be a lil bit of heaven. Specials board was interesting as well.

Amazing food, service and location. A wonderful place to get breakfast (6 people max). Make sure to wait out front after you put your name down. I recommend spending the time waiting out front to look over the menu. Hosts and servers are very kind and helpful. Food is really amazing, the French toast is quite scrumptious.

From the skepticism of the host, questioning me about whether all my party was there (my husbsnd had to walk slowly), to the mediocre food, to the spotty service, where you must continually request things that should be provided and where you have to get up to get water and coffee from a communal table, yet they want a 20% tip, this place is completely worth passing by. The only good thing was the excellent, though overpriced orange juice.

What we had that was good was really good (Cornmeal pancakes were delicious and the French toast was great too) but what wasn’t was really disappointing and that could have easily been avoided.
My husband ordered the biscuits and gravy and I can only assume that they had run out of biscuits, as what he got was gravy over a hamburger bun. We would have been completely understanding if our server had let us know they were going to substitute the biscuit out, although we definitely would have chosen to order something else, but no one ever mentioned to us that there would be no biscuit in the biscuits and gravy. There were a couple other pretty obvious substitutions made to our orders, which we were also not told about before the food arrived.
I just wish someone had told us up front about the changes that would be made, as we really wanted to like eating here.
