This place is great, as long as you’re not looking for Vietnamese food. This is the better of their two locations due to the huge area for kids to play and it’s just a nicer atmosphere in general. The food was good and the service is excellent. The staff seemed constantly attentive, but not overbearing. They all speak English.

The technical execution and consistency in the food here is excellent. I had the brisket sandwich (perfectly tender), returned with an American friend for nachos and ribs, and then came back for Thanksgiving dinner (moist turkey, crispy potatoes A+, stuffing).
As an American traveling overseas, I realize how grateful I am for the wide range of foods we have at home and how difficult it can be even to get something as simple as a hamburger that will taste like we’d expect. After traveling for months away, this was a welcome find.

One more time I came to Moose & Roo, and once again it was absolutely marvelous. The food was delicious, well-prepared, and full of flavor. Every bite felt satisfying, and the quality was consistent with my previous visits. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, making the whole experience even better. Moose & Roo never disappointsdefinitely a place I’ll keep coming back to.

I’m glad I found this restaurant, because it did not disappoint. The open air style was great, lots of fans to cool you down. The staff were amazing. So friendly and attentive. I ordered the quarter chicken dinner from the smoker, along with potato wedges and chipotle slaw. My meal was hot, fresh and veey flavorful. The prices were reasonable for a restaurant serving western foods. They even have a small soccer field and playground for you kids to run around. I highly recommend The Mooose & Roo Smokehouse.

I came to The Moose & Roo Smokehouse in Hanoi expecting a good meal based on its decent ratings, but left very disappointed. I ordered the buttermilk chicken wings, which turned out to be terrible. The wings had dark red and even black spots on them, looking anything but fresh. It was obvious they had been cooked from frozen, though the manager reassured me otherwise and said they would remove the dish from the menu. While I appreciated that gesture, it didn’t change the fact that I had been served something so unappetizing. In the end, I only paid for the beers, which were still overpriced compared to other spots nearby. For a place that carries such a good reputation, my experience was far below expectations. Overall, I left unsatisfied and wouldn’t recommend it for food. Two stars at best.

Teally enjoyed eating here. Unless you know where you are going ypu wpuld walk straight past. Its set off the road in a local kids park with football putch, slides and a volleyball court around the outside.
The restaurant itself is outside, under a canvas roof, reminiscent of a pool bar in a good hotel.
They have music playing, but its not too loud you cant talk, the staff are feiendly and attentive and the food is great. Sort of hard rock cafe kind of menu.
The food was great and i spent a very leisurely 2 hours soaking up the great atmosphere.
If yr in hanoi for long enough to need a change feom the local food this is definitely the place to come.
