Baraka Shawarma in Atlanta is officially one of my new favorite spots.

We ordered the mixed grill plate with lamb and chicken, and every single bite was incredible. The meat was unbelievably soft, tender, juicy, and packed with flavor. The spices were perfectly balanced — not overpowering, just the right amount to bring everything together beautifully. You can tell they know exactly what they’re doing in the kitchen.

Even the salad was fresh and well-prepared — and this was at 8 PM! That says a lot about their quality and consistency.

The lentil soup was absolutely awesome — rich, comforting, and full of depth. And the mango smoothie? One of the best I’ve had in a long time. Smooth, fresh, and perfectly sweet without being too much.

On top of the amazing food, Abdul (our cashier and server) made the experience even better. He has an incredible personality — warm, welcoming, and genuinely attentive. He anticipated what we needed before we even asked. That kind of customer service makes a huge difference.

If you’re in Atlanta and craving authentic, flavorful food with top-tier service, Baraka Shawarma is a must.

We’ll definitely be back.

Absolutely incredible spot in downtown Atlanta!
Baraka Shawarma is one of those hidden gems that you’re glad you wandered into. The food is fresh, flavorful, and authentically made. The kind of shawarma that hits you with real spice, tenderness, and quality. The menu has great variety, and everything is priced fairly for the portions you get.

The atmosphere is cozy and unique. The ornate ceiling tiles, warm lighting, and stained-glass fixture give the place a welcoming, almost nostalgic feel. It’s a peaceful little corner to sit, eat, and unwind while watching the city outside.

The staff was friendly and genuinely cared about the experience, which sealed the deal for me. If you’re anywhere near downtown, this is absolutely worth the stop. I’ll definitely be back.

I’ve been eating at this place for years, so I’m long overdue for a review. Definitely a restaurant that I frequent very often. The service is always personable, friendly, and respectful. The staff treat you well, and will always ensure that you leave satisfied.

I’ve personally recommended this place to many friends and visitors that are in the downtown area. Glad to have this local spot in the neighborhood that’s open everyday, even on holidays. They have really good hours too. Although you can order online, I prefer to call my order in (when the phones are working 🙂 LoL).

There is dining inside with plenty of room to accommodate large families. I believe they also have another side to their restaurant for additional seating too. This place gets really busy on weekends especially.

The food is made to order, so expect it to be fresh and hot. I usually stick to the same menu items, but lately, the lentil soup has been my favorite! I love french fries, and especially appreciate the crinkle fries that Baraka offers. I’ve yet to be disappointed. If you do order a wrap, do yourself a favor and add the Baraka sauce. OMG!

All in all, it’s a great place to enjoy local eats in beautiful Downtown Atlanta. If you enjoy Mediterranean food, this place is easily a great spot iykyk.

Tried this place for the first time today and it honestly surprised me in such a good way. The service was really kind and welcoming, and we had a nice conversation while ordering. The fries were fresh and crispy, and the shawarma wrap was warm with juicy meat. I got the chicken and my boyfriend got the gyro; both tasted great. We’ll definitely be coming back.

This was my very first time eating at Baraka Shawarma Atlanta, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience! Not only was it my first time trying this type of food, but it was also my first time immersing myself in the culture that comes with it. The flavors were fresh, unique, and absolutely delicious. The staff was welcoming and made me feel comfortable as I explored something new. I left with both a full stomach and a new appreciation for the cuisine and culture. Highly recommend to anyone curious about trying something different—you won’t be disappointed!

We came here without any expectations, but this place truly exceeded them.
The dish recommended by the owner was absolutely wonderful — full of flavor and generously portioned.
We left feeling more than satisfied.
Thank you so much to the owner for the kind gesture and the sweet treat.
It made our visit even more special.

I got the chicken shawarma wrap (no spice) and it’s absolutely delicious!! The chicken is juicy, it’s the right amount of sauce and the bread, pita I believe? I soft and taste like it was baked at the store today. Parking is a bit rough because it’s in the middle of the city but it’s worth it. The service was wonderful, the women who work there are so friendly and welcoming. If I lived here I’d come back but I’m glad I found it.

Was looking for something to eat around downtown Atlanta when this place caught my eye. Walked in and was immediately hit with the strong aroma of food being made and everything smelled divine. The man who took my order was very kind and the food itself was delectable and filling.

The only gripe I have is that the wait can get kind of long when it gets busy, but this isn’t a fast food place so not having that expectation when going in would be best.

Oh man, is this some tasty food!! . We grabbed lunch here and the authenticity is clear as the spices used are very forward in the flavor. I ordered medium spicy and it was delicious! A bit beyond my normal heat level, but enjoyable. My large gyro had lots of meat and crisp veggies. We also tried the hummus and grape leaves which were freshly prepared and so flavorful. While we were there many people stopped in, so the quality of the food is clearly known by the locals. The man who took our order was great fun and the staff were bussing tables and taking care of the place while we ate. Stop in for a tasty meal!

The gentleman associate at the front was friendly. I thought the mixed platter was terrific quality. I’m a big fan of Halal Guys, but this place is a viable alternative. The only issue is parking. The gentleman told me that if you are picking up the food, it is better to park in the temporary parking area directly across the street since nobody tows you there quickly. Nonetheless, the food is excellent and you will not be disappointed.
