I was here in Richmond VA for trucking orientation. I looked up brunch places and was undecided on a few, however I’m pleased undoubtedly by my choice and experience here! The atmosphere and service was TOP TIER for a first experience, the food was magnificent I’ve never been to a brunch place before I’m not really a big breakfast eater unless I’m cooking it myself. Kudos to my service and this establishment for the experience. I had shrimp and grits with French toast on the side, 2 strawberry mimosas and a lemon water.

Let’s talk about it.
Brunch at Eggspectation is one of those places where the atmosphere almost convinces you everything on the plate is automatically a 10. Almost.
The restaurant itself is beautiful — bright, clean, modern, and buzzing with weekend brunch energy. It feels upscale but still comfortable, the kind of place where you could meet friends, bring family, or casually stretch brunch into lunch without anyone rushing you. Service was also excellent. Our server was friendly, attentive, and kept everything moving smoothly without hovering. Drinks stayed full and the food came out quickly.
Now let’s get to the plate.
I ordered the French toast topped with bananas, strawberries, walnuts, powdered sugar, and a fried egg. Presentation was great (see photos), and the portion size was generous. The French toast had a nice crisp exterior, which I always appreciate, but the inside leaned a little firmer than I personally like. The fruit and walnuts added good texture and sweetness, though, and the egg on top brought that savory balance to the dish.
So while the food landed at about a solid 4 out of 5, the service and atmosphere easily hit a 5.
Overall? A very enjoyable brunch spot with great energy, great service, and plenty of menu options. I’d definitely come back to explore more of the menu.

My 1st time here and I love it. My French Toast were perfect a little crunchy, potato, scrambled eggs with cheddar cheese and the syrup. OMG The Mimosas Flights worth the price. However, THE BEST of everything WAS the server BRIAN. HE IS THE LIGHT OF THE PLACE. HE WAS ALWAY MAKING SURE WE WERE FINE. HE EVEN TAKE CARE THE LITTLE ONE 1ST WITH HER ODER. THANK YOU, BRIAN!!! This place has the potential to be a great place to dine in the Richmond area. The atmosphere is amazing. The food was just okay, especially considering the price. We don’t mind paying for delicious food and excellent service; however the wings were fried a little too hard and the waffles tasted as if they were frozen versus a prepared batter. We wish the service was better as well. I may give this restaurant one more try sometime in the future.

Truly an amazing breakfast experience. From the fine crafted drinks (strawberry mimosa and espresso martini) to the perfectly executed breakfast entrée this place doesn’t have a thing on the menu that isn’t good.

I recently had Saturday brunch and our waitress, Briana, definitely set the pace! Not only was she knowledgeable about the menu, but she was super friendly and made sure we enjoyed our first time at Eggspectation! The gooey bread, lamb chops, chicken and waffles, and the mimosa flights were all top notch! Let’s not forget the dessert waffle! We can’t wait to come back once we are in town again!

I ordered the crab and shrimp omelette, potato’s, and a side of bacon. I didn’t care for the omelette due to lack of seasoning but it had a nice amount of crab and shrimp. The potatoes were crispy and delicious. I tasted the savory bread pull and it was hot and wonderful. The oil, cheese, and seasoning was really nice. Service was fast and servers were pleasant. We arrived when they opened not too crowded.

So it took us a while to try this place because we thought it was just egg stuff. Hahaa! To our surprise, there’s so much more! One day we went to Latitude Seafood Co at Stony Point Fashion Park and they were super busy and it was pretty loud that day. (I have a review for there too) Anyway, we decided to try Eggspectation since it was right across the way in walking distance. We were so glad we tried something new!! Our waitress was wonderful, the restaurant and bathrooms were clean, and our food was absolutely delicious!! We have now put this place in our rotation of restaurants! While they also have outdoor seating, we have yet to sit outside. The inside is really cute and comfortable and the menu has a good selection for everyone. Don’t pass up on walking through Stony Point either. Several other restaurants and stores are located there. But this particular place should most definitely be on your “must try” list! It’s so good!!
