Small town cafe atmosphere. Very tight space. Would not advise for anyone with handicap needs. Even larger people trying to maneuver between tables were bumping into other tables.
We each got a skillet and the ingredients were fresh and made to order properly. The pancakes are ginormous! My husband wanted to order one, but not for the $10 price tag.
A couple things worth noting. If you pay with a card the add a 3.5 % surcharge. Also, the skillets we ordered indicated they came with toast, but they added an additional.50 charge to each plate for sourdough. A notice would have been nice because I wouldn’t have ordered it. The sourdough was like Melba toast (thin and very hard).
Overall, the place was adequate, but for breakfast there are better local options in my opinion.

We found this place when looking for a fun brunch spot and loved it. The staff were very kind and kept checking on us even though they were busy. The food was very delicious and some good generous portions. Look forward to the next time here!!

The giant chocolate chip pancakes are very memorable. My two kids could not finish them all in one sitting so we have leftovers. This was one of my favorite features about the restaurant.

The place was easy to find, and there is free parking on the side streets or in the garage. The staff was very helpful and friendly.

This was our first visit. I know people love this place but it just didn’t work out for us. We got there around 7:30 on a Saturday morning. The place was half full already. There was only 1 waitress and 1 cook until 8:00 when about 5 other employees finally showed up. Our waitress was doing her best and was very apologetic but only 2 people servicing the whole restaurant made every thing really suffer. Food was very greasy and had no flavor. Portion sizes were fine and price was reasonable but we were there for an hour which is very long especially for mediocre food. Staggering when the staff come in would surely have helped with how smooth things could have run. You seat yourself at an open table. Inside is pretty small though clean. There are plenty of parking options around. I don’t think we’ll be back though.

Saw a post (from Tony Cu) about their BIG pancakes and drove over an hour to try. Well worth it – DELISH. U know a pancake is good when you don’t need syrup – (but I used some anyway). HUGE PLUS – they HEAT their syrup. Had the pleasure of visiting with one of the staff while eating – learning about the cafe and the town of Anoka. I still have a smile on my face from our conversation – thank you – what a gift. Cute cafe atmosphere. See you again! 🙂

I have not been to sparky’s for decades. It may now be my new go to breakfast spot. Great service and great food at a reasonable price. The breakfast was not greasy which is a huge win for me!
We all had the breakfast skillet, it is a huge portion, *they do have the option for a smaller size.

This tends to be a very busy place on the weekends, and can be moderately noisy.

Overall, a great experience, highly recommend!

Has the feel of a small town cafe with it’s regulars. Service and the food were top notch and I’ll be back for sure!

We were looking for an all day breakfast place and we were very fortunate to find Sparky’s! Our server, Burdette, was amazing. She, and the other newer server, kept my coffee full and even offered one to go! (A good sign a place is keeping a good watch on their customers).

It’s a little tight in there but there is a charm to a small cafe vibe like this. It was quite busy and you will need to seat yourself but it’s very worth it!

The wait for service was not bad and not bad for food either. The food was very good overall and cooked well. Be warned! The large pancake is REALLY large ! Enjoy!

The food was pretty good, and the atmosphere was what you expect a small town cafe to be like. Service was good too. We went on a Saturday morning so it was pretty busy there. We spent about $20 per person, which is pretty on par for the area. The food was less greasy than Perkins.

Serving good home Cooks comfort food. Breakfast all day, although I think they’re only open until 3:00 in the afternoon. The dining area is clean, as is the kitchen which is visible from the dining area (a feature that my wife appreciates). The waitresses are helpful and friendly. As an example, the second time we went there which was 3 weeks after the first time, (they’re fairly near to where my wife is having cancer treatments every 3 weeks and to stop after the treatments has sort of become our reward). So after only one visit, they recognized us and were friendly and helpful right from the start. I can’t say enough good about this restaurant. It feels like a throwback to the mid to late 60’s when the waitstaff actually liked there jobs and wanted to help their customers. Just all around a good experience.
