We placed our order, and the food came out extremely fast — which quickly made sense once we tasted it. Everything was cold, poorly prepared, and absolutely terrible. It was honestly inedible. I have never received food like this from the Irving location before, and this experience was shockingly bad in comparison.
The women in pthe front seemed more focused on cleaning up and rushing people out of the restaurant than providing any level of service. The entire atmosphere felt unwelcoming and uncomfortable.
Terrible food and an even worse experience. Very disappointing.
Now, the Cowboy coleslaw was interesting. I actually liked it different, tangy, and fresh. It had a little crunch to it, maybe from broccoli or just larger pieces of cabbage. Either way, it stood out.
The chicken was good. Juicy, nicely flavored, but not hot. Maybe that’s on me for having it delivered. I’m from Louisiana, and we say, “If you’re not sneezing, you ain’t seasoning.” So I like a little more kick. Still, it was solid. I’ll definitely go back next time, I want to sit down and get that fresh-off-the-fire experience.
Overall, Cowboy Chicken in Forney gets a thumbs-up from me not perfect, but worth another visit.
I am BEYOND DISAPPOINTED!! I cannot believe is spent $41 on burnt, hard, mini drumsticks that are smaller than my toddlers hand. These pictures dont do justice there was no meat because its all burnt and stuck to the skin and its touch as jerky!!
I literally paid $41 for twice baked mashed potatoes amd sweet potatoes!!!
Where to start?..
The chicken. It is absolutely top notch. There are very few places that serve this level of quality chicken. Any main dish you order will be fantastic. But if I were to recommend one, it would be the enchiladas. That amazing chicken mixed with their homemade tomatillo sauce is out of this world!
The sides are all incredible too. Taters, mac n cheese, cucumber salad (if it’s not on the menu, ask anyway. They will let you order it). Grab a dessert if you can’t decide on your 2nd side. The cobbler is to die for!
They also have a drive-thru!!
