So, being in my 40’s my most recent experience with Steak n Shake was jarring. There is hardly any staff and everything is ordered though kiosks. It felt very impersonal. The staff they did have was very friendly and helpful. They did have their soda gate kept behind a QR code that you get when you purchase your meal. Growing up this place was always vibrant and loud and a fun place to hang out with friends for a meal. The atmosphere in the building now was very sterile and packed energy. The food was excellent the beef tallow fries were awesome. Burgers taste the way they’ve always tasted to me. Had a milkshake as well and this too was delicious. So I have mixed feelings on this place now. Good food and an off atmosphere

It has been a seriously long time since I’ve been to Steak and Shake. This store was surprisingly clean. The cashier is gone. The wait staff is mostly gone. Whether you are dining in or taking it to go, you order on a screen and then wait. The drink towers are self serve by scanning your receipt. The food is mostly the same. On this night, the food was fresh and tasted as expected (good). I got neither shake nor steak but the bacon double cheeseburger was good.

today my experience at Steak ‘n Shake was nothing short of a disaster. When I ordered a milkshake with pieces on top, I expected the usual attention to detail that this restaurant is known for. But when I received my drink, I was shocked to find that thepieces were missing.
I tried to explain my disappointment to the lady taking my order, but her attitude was rude and dismissive. And to top it all off, the milkshake itself tasted off
This is unacceptable. Steak ‘n Shake has built its reputation on providing friendly service and delicious food. But today, they failed me in both ways. I demand better. I demand that this restaurant take my custom requests seriously and pay closer attention to the details. And if they can’t do that, then maybe it’s time for them to reconsider their business model.

This is by far the worst experience I had travelling this far !
I made an order on uber and it was then stolen it was stolen due to the fact that a employee did not follow proper procedure when dealing with uber or delivery drivers I was called by the store indicating it was stolen and they refused to do anything about it then when I called the store the manager refused to even speak with and then proceeds to have one of the other employees call me and flip out

I usually enjoy Steak ’n Shake, but today was disappointing. I ordered a Nutella milkshake and asked to add Kit Kat pieces. When I received it, the Kit Kat pieces on top were missing. I explained only about the Kit Kat pieces, but the lady taking my order didn’t completely understand me, and her attitude was a bit rude. Finally she added few pieces but that’s not the way they usually do. Usually They keep kit bars,pieces on top as well. I left with my drink, but when I later had it, it tasted different from the usual and didn’t seem to be made properly. It also didn’t look like the milkshakes I normally get here. I hope the staff can pay closer attention to custom requests and keep the friendly service customers expect.
