-Very clean
-Wait staff was very friendly.
PARTICULARLY the waiter William. The guy floated the room cleaning and helping everyone without getting in anyone’s way whatsoever. Always smiling and never bored. Props and thanks to him. He treated our daughter amazing.
-Food serving area was fully loaded and perfectly clean, not to mention beautiful.
-Price was well worth it, just be sure to bring your appetite!
entertainment! It’s always fun to bring someone new or bring a kiddo to watch the food getting cooked right in front of them
10/10 love this place. Come in!
The veggies on Chang’s Mongolian Grill buffet were plentiful and fresh — colorful, crisp, and begging to be stir-fried. Unfortunately, the same can’t be said for the “meats,” which looked like they were flash-frozen sometime during the Korean War. The beef was thinly sliced, yes, but frozen nearly solid and chewier than a boot heel after a 100-mile march. For $17.95, I wasn’t expecting Kobe beef, but I was hoping for something I could bite through without dislocating my jaw.
The sauce selection was solid — soy, garlic, chili oil, the usual suspects — but no amount of flavor could hide the frostbite in that protein lineup. The grill guy did his job with military precision, but the end result was more MRE reheated on a Humvee hood than authentic Mongolian stir-fry.
Service? Functional. They kept the water glass full and cleared the plates, but smiles were in short supply — maybe they’re frozen too. Not rude, just not friendly or welcoming. If you’re looking for hospitality, you won’t find it here. Bummer.
Had the meat been leaner and easier to chew, we might have considered a return mission. But this was a one-and-done operation. For $18 a head, there are plenty of places in town serving food that doesn’t require a combat knife to cut through.

2-70+ and 2-45 to 50 year old adults why seated rite next to screaming, rambunctious, and crying children when there were obvious other open and clean booths elsewhere? My dad (who is diabetic) asked for diet Coke and my girl asked for regular Coke. Server couldn’t remember wicj one was what and openly admitted to us he just guessed that could have been bad. Never offered soup that comes with meal. The 4 of us made up our plates and came back to the table to find server brought 1 fork to add to the 1 fork that was on table before being seated. Ask him for 2 more settings and had to ask different server for 2 more forks finally both servers showed up at same time 3 minutes after last request for forks. Rice and wraps we also asked for when server took drink order finally showed up 3/4 of the way through our meals. To top it all off when we went to pay our bill it took over 15 min standing in line for two people infront of us to pay their bills. Over all worst experience at a Changs’s Mongolian Grill ever. I have been to many other locations Salem OR, Beaverton OR, Gresham OR, Hillsborough OR, and never have had such poor SERVICE.
: Service wasn’t bad.
: Atmosphere is what you’d expect.
God service, though.
Last night though was amazing! The place is a buffet, so you can go back for more than one plate. (I didn’t know that.) The chef did an excellent job cooking everyone’s food. Everyone seemed to be enjoying what they ordered. Staff were always kind and helpful.
We walked the line of food, everything looking perfect. We packed our bowls with Beef and Lamb. Noodles and vegetables.
Then we got to the cooks. 3 of them. 2 running around wildly the other happily singing. What could go wrong? Well……… the Guy singing was obviously high. And I realized the other 2 running around were trying to clean the burning grill. The guy singing was cooking the food, and every bowl that he dropped onto the grill. He was burning. It was actually kind of hilarious watching the whole thing Go down. Because you could tell the other two cooks were extremely uncomfortable.Trying to run around fixing all of this guy’s burned food.
But at the point of burning the food so badly, you really can’t fix it. Yet they were still plating it, and handing it out. I was rather disappointed not only for myself but for my children, my wife likes the place. So she kind of put up with it. And I really wasn’t going to complain until I found out it cost 79$ and then a 20% tip on top. But our waitress, Mary absolutely deserved it. She was wonderful.
The thing that got me was waking up this morning and my hands after washing them five times last night still smell like burnt food.
I would definitely come back to this place and give it another shot. But management needs to pay attention to their workers and not just stand at the counter, waiting to take payment. You can’t rely on the other coworkers to snitch. Management really needs to pay attention nowadays to the people they hire.
