We ordered a large half cheese half pepperoni, and the amount of cheese on it was a joke. There were several spots that were just bread and sauce with no cheese at all, and the crust was almost burned. I had to add cheese that I had in my fridge to the pizza and put it in our toaster oven to get my kids to eat it. For $19.50, I definitely shouldn’t have to doctor my pizza so that it’s not just bread and sauce.
We used to love that Gallas was so generous with their cheese and toppings, but they’re clearly skimping on toppings these days. The cheese was lacking the last time we ordered, but I thought it was just a fluke- clearly not. Bummer that the quality has seriously declined.
The wings were great.
Parking is a little tight but there is a good bit of room inside the restaurant to eat.
Everyone was really nice and other employees even helped to make sure we had everything we needed.
Watching the people at the bar drinking their wine and beers and talking, it just seemed like a good atmosphere with a bunch of regulars enjoying their sat afternoon watching Georgia play.
Prices are fair I feel and I think the service justifies any prices that might be a little higher than normal.
We would go back
The last time we went, my wife and I agreed it was one of the best pepperoni pizzas we’ve ever had.
Today- different story. Whoever made this pizza skimped on both pepperoni and cheese. I sent it back asking to have them add more cheese. It came back with little if any more cheese and no more pepperoni. Unacceptable.
I talked to the server who was very nice. No complaints about him. He told me to leave this review. He also stated that maybe I should come back after 4, as the day shift might be the problem.
Bad food experience. How simple is making a pepperoni pizza??!! I had driven out of my way to go to Gallas. Never again. Someone needs to tell the kitchen staff to not skimp on simple ingredients.
Maybe they should call it thinly coated
tomato toast.
As we approached the pizzeria, we noticed they had an attached parking lot. It wasn’t huge, but we quickly found an available spot. We arrived about an hour after opening on a Sunday, so it wasn’t packed—plenty of space for a mid-sized lot. We noticed a few tables outside, but with Georgia pollen everywhere we decided to sit inside. Walking in, we were greeted warmly and informed we could seat ourselves. After scanning the newly renovated and spacious dining room, we found a booth along the far wall, opposite the bar. Our server came over quickly, provided us with menus, and brought waters soon after. Wifey and I checked out the beer selection. The menu featured many of the usual suspects but also suggested asking about some rotating craft choices. Wifey ordered a Blue Moon, and I was about to go with a Creature Comforts Tropicalia when the manager mentioned he had a Double Hazy from Parrish Brewing available. I took his recommendation, and I’m glad I did! My mother-in-law opted for a ginger ale. We took our time reviewing the extensive food selections. Wifey went with her favorite Margherita pizza, her mom ordered a plain cheese, and I built my own pie with chicken, onions, and jalapeños. We all ordered the “Mini,” which is their personal pan pizza size with about four slices. Sean, the manager, came over again to check on us and chat for a bit. My mother-in-law mentioned wanting to come back when she’s in town in September. He advised that would be right in the heart of football season and that Galla’s is home to the Atlanta Buffalo Bills fans. We won’t hold that against them, and we’ll definitely return—especially since they have TVs everywhere, perfect for watching the games. She also said the place gave her a nostalgic feel, reminding her of her teenage years—the only thing missing was an old school jukebox on the table! Overall, it was a great 1st visit to Galla’s. We will definitely be back to try some other menu items. Sean and our server Gabby were incredibly friendly and attentive. The food came out quickly and was delicious. I was a big fan of the crust—super crunchy and flavorful.
Parking can be a challenge, they could put up a sign for alternative parking options, or list or on the FB page. It is self seating, first come first serve – So just know when you walk in as there is just a really small sign on the counter. With all the customers it can be a little confusing…
All in all the experience was FANTASTIC, the staff was SUPER friendly and the food was GREAT!! Check out the newly remodeled space!
