Got seated as soon as we arrived. Ordered appetizers and drinks and got them within 5 minutes. Food came within 10 minutes. Very good service. Waitress was very attentive and friendly. Recommend not ordering appetizers unless you have a big group, only because the service is very fast lol

We have tried every Mexican restaurant in Ennis and this is by far the best. The service was fast and friendly. Our bill was about $140 and we had poblano fajitas, a mochajete and appetizer queso dip

Terrible terrible service. Order food through door dash app. Waited until my app said the food was ready. Showed up at the restaurant to pick up my food. The Gay general manager was at the front. So I informed him I had an order under door dash / wife’s name). He disappeared for 20 minutes and never came back up front until another man of Mexican ethnicity came in looking for his order. They greeted this man very kindly, friendly, and rapidly. Got his food and all. While me the white guy was left waiting. I asked for general managers name and he refused to give me his name. Needless to say I never got my food and was very upset by being disrespected. The general manager looked at me and shrugged his shoulders when giving this other man his food. I had to leave before I did anything to get myself in trouble. Went home to my Hispanic wife and told her what had happened. She called up there and spoke in Spanish to o the general manager. Once again he wouldn’t give his name. My wife asked him questions very nicely. And even she was disrespected by the general manager. WORST SERVICE AND MANAGEMENT EVER.

By far the coziest place with inside, outside, and bar area seating. The service and food are excellent. We had the lunch special burrito and iced tea.

New to the area from Dallas & wanted to check this place out. It was an early mid day lunch out on the patio. The decor is creative & seating is comfortable. Mom ordered from the lunch menu, enchilada Verdes & myself, the Tex-Mex plate. The chips are different, they have a hard crisp, almost to the point of stale but we went with it. The two salsas are pretty good, one spicier than the other that is more traditional. Plating had great presentation. Mom’s Verde enchiladas had chicken and like the meat in my taco/enchilada, really lacked any seasoning. The only real flavor came from the sauces on top; I added salsa to my taco. The refried beans were actually pretty flavorful too, the rice was fluffy, not dry. Overall, nothing spectacular about what we ordered. Service is hovering at best, average. I’ve noticed a trend of restaurants really supercharging the prices of beverages & the sad sign of the times as mom’s Mexican Coke cost $4.50 (32%) of her $13.00 lunch plate. The more added insult is that a 3% surcharge was added to run the credit card! These pricing practices do not seem practical or conducive to restaurant operations in this economic climate especially when you want to retain your customer base & have repeat business. At the bottom of the receipt, your invited to “join our (loyalty program) with this receipt.” There is no link, no email address, not even the restaurants website is listed. Fine, so when you go to the webpage, there is [nothing] about a loyalty program anywhere on the site, which in itself is a joke tbh. Needless to say, we will move on to another competitor that is not just average, but more elevated & consumer pricing conscious…..

We were driving home from College Station and we stopped in Ennis to take Bluebonnet photos. Hubby wanted to treat us to dinner The reviews give this restaurant 4. 1 ✭’s, so I said okay let’s give them a shot. Unfortunately, we did not have a good dining experience. The food was mediocre and lacking in flavor. The portions and price is about average. I was very impressed by the decor, patio area, and the size of the restaurant. When we were seated, I was surprised they sat us in an awful cramped booth next to the drink station (photo added). It’s obvious that they cater to a certain demographic, so you’ll have to reconsider their reviews. It’s very unfortunate!!! Having to pay for that meal was another disservice, because it was horrible. I definitely do not recommend you try this restaurant. This comes from myself, hubby, and our little.

A nice local restaurant with tons of atmosphere friendly people and a pleasant View of the old downtown section. However the food I had was not good, dried overcooked beef and chicken nachos. The Margarita was very good. And the enchiladas my friend had were average.

We’ve tried El Mexicano in two other cities and seem to be getting the same results. The service is just plain terrible! And in keeping with tradition, this last time was no exception. Upon arrival we were seated and a few minutes later our drink order was taken followed by our drinks being brought to the table and our orderbeingtaken. (Here’s where it starts getting ugly). After a little over 30 minutes, our waitress comes back to our table and says, ‘are you ready for your check?” Well we thought she was kidding but she wasn’t. So we told her that we haven’t even received our food yet. To which she made a cringy face and stormed off. By the time we finally got our food, we had already been there going on close to an hour. And when the food arrived, my wife asked for an extra serving of shredded cheese but the cheese never arrived. But it was definitely on the bill? So I confronted the waitress about it and the extremely long wait for our food and her excuse for the cheese and long wait was, “you do see how many people are here right?”. So I asked to see the manager and some young lady plots up to our table with a new receipt minus the cheese charge. No apology for the inconvenience and tons of good ol’ excuses for her waitress. And it made me feel like she was saying, well there are a lot of people here so deal with it. And in a rude tone no less. So I proceeded to tell her that in any kind of business. You’re only as good as your manager. And employees actions will always be a direct reflection of management. The food was great. But the service and treatment of customers totally ruined the whole experience. So, an enthusiastic two thumbs down . For better service try taco bell. And I would strongly encourage avoiding this place until real and professional management is employed. In closing, if you use a credit or debit card here, you’re charged an additional fee. What’s next, a fee for choosing to patronize the place? Again, the food was good…..but not that good.

Our family has ordered from Mexicano Grill many times and we’ve always enjoyed their food. Unfortunately, the customer service has gone downhill, and today’s experience was very upsetting.

We placed our usual order and added an extra chips & salsa with the warm orange salsa. When the salsa didn’t arrive, we called to ask if we could pick it up or receive a refund. Instead of helping us, the manager was extremely rude, defensive, and unwilling to listen. They insisted we could not pick up the salsa that we clearly paid for and then refused to issue a refund, telling us to “take it up with DoorDash” even though this was a restaurant mistake.

It shouldn’t be a problem to fix a $4.99 salsa, especially for a regular customer. Mistakes happen — but how you treat customers matters more. The male manager showed zero professionalism and seemed more concerned with not being “wrong” than doing what was right.

Sadly, this experience has cost them a loyal customer.
