Food is fairly tasty with medium sized portions. Plating has a nice touch! Interior décor is a modern-club style accented by a colourful jungle theme. Service was attentive. Would recommend for the area.
For our mains we had a shrimp fried rice, pineapple fried rice, beef satay, and a seafood rice plate. All the dishes were full of flavour and tasty. The pineapple fried rice was made with curry, which my son didn’t like. Typically pineapple fried rice is not made with curry powder.
We did their mango sticky rice for their desert. It was yummy and not overly sweet. Plated a bit differently from the picture.
The service however was very lacking. We didn’t get water refill and had to flag down our waiter. All the waiting staff seemed to be huddled in one corner rather than actually serving their tables. When it came time to pay, I was asked how many was in my party, when you can only see 5 people sat at the table. I am assuming because they were after the mandatory certain percentage tip. During paying the server hovered over my shoulders as I was processing the payment. I found that quite discomforting and frankly rude.
Though their food was tasty, and quite tastier than other Thai big restaurants downtown, I wouldn’t revisit this location due to their service.
If you’re only getting one dish, I recommend the soft shell crab with curry. It’s very skillfully done and pretty easy to eat.
My friend had the Koi Soi and said it was good. I ordered a Pad See Ew with chicken to go, which unfortunately was not good. We split the mango sticky rice. The blue rice was not fresh but the white rice was. When the waitress asked how it was, I mentioned that half the mango was very sour. To my surprise, she got defensive and said, “The mango comes in the box.” Yes, I’m aware — I was only answering because she asked. At more established Thai restaurants, they’ll actually tell you upfront if the mangoes are sour today. She followed up by saying with an attitude that she’s worked at many successful high end restaurants. Which was interesting, and irrelevant.
After waiting about 20 minutes for our appetizer and mains, the waitress came running back to ask what we ordered again? Turns out the order was never entered, so we’d been waiting for nothing. That delayed the meal and our evening. What struck me most was that no one made any effort to fix the situation. For a place with multiple opportunities for constructive feedback — including completely missed orders — there was zero attempt at accountability. Even their replies to other Google reviews tend to brush off criticism as “subjective,” which is disappointing.
It took forever to flag down our waitress because she and the others were busy chatting in a corner. It genuinely felt like they were doing us a favour by serving our table, rather than simply doing their job.
It also took three attempts to get the bill sorted. The machine didn’t work the first time, and when we finally managed to pay, she hovered awkwardly over us during the transaction.
Overall, the ambience is great, but the service is not, and the food is mid. Won’t be returning.
