Work in Carrollton and have been to many nice food establishments. Got a COD sandwich and sweet tea with a seat by the window overlooking the river. Will return to try that all day breakfast that sounded nice. Nice waiter she was real polite and very informative on what to order. The hostess was nice as well. I also appreciated how they took care of a young man and was so kind to him as he ordered his coffee and talked to all the patrons. Good environment. Well done !

Really nice birthday lunch, and they made us a peanut butter pie!

Great meal, great server (who i think was new) great river view. I had the steak burger with a brown gravy and a baked potato. Very flavorful and a generous portion. Wife had the cod sandwich and she said it was a very good fish sandwich. Got 2 pieces of peanut butter pie to take home, but only made it home with 1 piece bill was like $41, so no complaints. Give it a shot.

Breakfast with a view! Big windows overlooking the Ohio River allow you to feel like you’re almost on one of the big barges that move along the river. The breakfast offerings are basic but the portions were sufficient to feel me up. The home fries appear to have been baked rather than fried as they were not greasy at all. On the downside, at least for me, the grits are served with butter flavor already mixed in. I prefer my grits plain with a pat of real butter, thank you.

Should be more loyal to the people who come in everyday an eat
My 76 year old gramdmal eats here twice a day. Her car broke down outside battery died, not 1 person tried to help. She is there faithfully everyday. Rain or shine. Be loyal to the people who keep your doors open, an bills paid!!

Have been there twice, really good both times. Salad bar looks small but has a big selection, including chicken and tuna salads, enough to make a meal itself. Fried catfish was lightly breaded and tasty. Service was fast and friendly. I don’t know who supplies their ice cream but it is ‘way delicious! And, of course, there is that river view….

Nice hometown restaurant. The food was very good and came out quick and hot. Our waitress was wonderful. Kept our drinks full and made sure we had everything we needed

Went here to eat lunch with great expectation. The food was ok. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger with all the toppings and fries. Server came back and said they are out of fries. No big deal… I’ll take tater tots. When the food came my cheese burger was missing all the toppings. I let the server know and she acted like I didn’t order it with toppings. She finally relented when everyone at the table said I did. :/ I don’t know why she felt the need to argue.
Oh well. She brought them out to me.
But like I said. The food was just OK. Nothing special. I did leave with a full stomach though so

I recently ate at Welch’s during the past few days while staying at Gen. Butler State Park. We order club sandwiches for carryout & they were delicious! We decided to go to dinner there the next night for dine in. The owner is incredibly nice & they have been in business longer than I have been alive. They have a mice menu for breakfast, lunch & dinner. I ordered the shrimp dinner which came with a salad bar, one side & dinner roll for $13.99. It was definitely good food for a good value. The wait staff was incredibly friendly & told me how good their desserts were. I was full unfortunately. I would definitely go back. Good food, great value & small town charm.

A wonderous dining experience. We arrived at General Butler Lodge to find the restaurant closed and the bar with limited options. Welch’s looked like the best in town. We were not disappointed. Great view of the river. A fun and more than a bit salty wait staff. Fried pickles were amazing. The bacon on the BLT was the best I’ve had. Fried Catfish was delicious. Onion rings were great. The fries were ok. All in all a great end to a long travel day.
