Food was excellent, large selection of menu options. Service was fast a friendly, Raul our server was very hospitable and provided great recommendations off the menu. Bathroom was spotless clean. Beer glasses were huge, they give you a large mason jar for beer. The whole restaurant is very clean. They have over 15 TVs for football and sports games. Highly recommended restaurant if you like BBQ and Cajun food.

Wow, what a great restaurant! We recently moved here and this is one of our top go to places. The food is fantastic, and served in ample portions. Highly recommend the brisket platter. Also, do not sleep on the happy hour from 3 to 6pm. May be the best deal in Iowa, half price drinks and several reasonably priced appetizers!

We asked for a new plate because ours was dirty. Knocked of old crusty residue and showed it to our waitress. Think food was warmed over. Waffle fries were barely warm. Had to flag someone down as our waitress was not around. Waited for drink refill as service was lousy. Not going back.

Gonna have to echo a comment from another review… don’t get the burnt ends.. mine were dry and old, didn’t taste even remotely close to brisket. they taste like they were made a week or 2 ago and sat. Tasted like really bland beef jerky with a slight sweet taste

Do em’ right or just take em’ off the menu if you’re gonna disrespect burnt ends like that.

There is other great food here though.

This is why over all a ✨✨✨, the food is really good, lots of flavor but way too much salt.
NOTE to the Cooks: SALT CAN ALWAYS BE ADDED BUT NOT BE TAKEN OUT. NOT WITHOUT RESTRUCTURING THE DISH. Which I did.
I get it create flavor, but too much salt causes problems for many people and we don’t eat out much because of that.
I brought home my leftover Jumboline and altered it at home,
3 cups of cooked rice,
1 – 15 oz can of no salt added diced tomatoes,
some garlic, chili powder and tabasco.
It was good and about 2/3 less the salt.
Let’s talk about atmosphere “The seating”: You have the most uncomfortable seats one step above metal chairs uncomfortable. The room is completely open with very little to mute the immense amount of noise. I couldn’t hear anything my son said from across the table. This noise could be cut down by doing simple changes like a wall between the dining area and the loud bar crowd to absorb the noise. People who come for dinner want to eat in peace.
With all of this said I won’t be coming back.
“The Service” was excellent we tip her well about 36%.

I can’t say enough about the outstanding service Raul provided during my visit. His customer service techniques are truly among the best I’ve ever encountered. From the moment we sat down, Raul made us feel welcome, attentive to every detail without ever being overbearing. He anticipated our needs before we even had to ask and handled everything with genuine professionalism and care.

The food itself was good, but Raul’s service is what truly set this experience apart and made it exceptional. It’s rare to come across someone who not only does their job well but elevates the entire dining experience. Raul is a clear example of what excellent customer service should look like. Highly recommend asking for him if you want top-tier service!

This place has gone so far downhill they just need to close their doors.

I ordered wings. $18 for a tiny basket of wings that the server forgot to put in. By the time I received them, the rest of my group was almost done eating. The wings were ok, but severly overpriced.

Not only is this place expensive, they’re charging an extra 3.5% on your check due to “inflation”. The owner needs to pack it up.

Our niece lives in the area and recommended Jethro’s. At a store we visited one of the staff validated it as a great selection. I had the half slab ribs & half order of boneless wings, along with sides of coleslaw & cream of corn. Everyone left full! Great place to watch sports. Unfortunately Iowa lost in the Women’s National Championship basketball game.

The blackened pork tenderloin was a first for me. Pretty good but wow, a lot of food. The sandwich had bacon, pulled pork, jalapeno sausage, and pepperjack cheese smothered with a sauce crowned in a white bun. Pretty good but too much. The jambalaya had good flavor but was buried in a large serving of rice; the proportions could have been flipped. Decent drink selection. Plenty of parking with easy access. Overall a pretty good place to eat , have a drink, and catch a game on one of the numerous TVs.
