Service was great! Was in private dining area and servers and owner were amazing! Food was great, the owner even gave the group a “how to” lesson for the lobster. Definately recommend.

I have been here 20years ago. It is always brings me the best food and services.
People love their twin lobsters. However, I highly suggested to try some others. Those are also great!

Don’t go anywhere else in the Boston area for seafood. This place was amazing, and so much more affordable than downtown. A must visit!

A friend of mine recommended this place I’ve never been to it before they have an all you can eat brunch buffet on Sundays and the rest of the week it’s regular menu service. They had really good breakfast and lunch mixed Seafood meat dishes. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere was laid back and the food was good I definitely recommend the Sunday buffet

One of the last true old school New England places left. Can always count on fresh chowder, lobster specials, prime rib, baked haddock, roast beef dinner, etc. Staff is one of a kind. ❤️

The lobster today is fresh, the staff are very nice, and the prices are super cheap. I highly recommend everyone to come.

We ate here our first night in the New England states and our last night. We tried the clam chowder at 3 other restaurants and decided Mt. Vernon’s was the best! The pop overs that were served here were an extra bonus as well! Very unique and tasty! They were delicious with the clam chowder. We also tried their lobster which was on special the night we went. They, too, were delicious!

We had a large party so I called in before we went. When we got there they had tons of room so we were seated right away. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. The seafood we had was good from the lobster to the sword fish all good. The other land items were not as good. This sometimes is to be expected when the focus is seafood. So overall I think this place is a good spot to grab a beer and a seafood dish.

Ugggghhhhh! The worst liver and onions I have ever tasted! Bland, Dry, over cooked and burnt edges (so many chewy nasty veins), watery tasteless mashed potatoes, and they only had two options of veggies. The roast beef w/ watery “gravy sauce” was ridiculous! No wonder they usually only serve people 80 years old and up. No salt, bland diets. I was so mad, 2 days later, I ran and bought my own deveined liver and cooked at The food on the white plates and one blue plate is my home cooked version. I’ll never return to this restaurant again!!!

By far my favorite place that we ate at in Boston! We were with a large tour group. We had 45+ people eating. They knew we were coming. But, I didn’t expect how fast and fresh the food would be! We started off with water, then beers and a salad right behind it. The manager came out and did a demonstration on how to crack Losters since most all of us were from out of town. I think he was surprised when this old country boy from Arkansas knew his way around a lobster. He asked for a volunteer to crack a claw and I quickly stuck my plate out. I opened it up and pulled all the meat out in one piece. It was so delicious! Next, our miam courses came out piping hot and fresh! I devoured both of my lobsters. They are so delicious and tender. The meat had a nice subtle sweet taste! And the size of the lobsters were huge! I picked them clean. Fortunately, for me, the group of ladies I was seated with couldn’t eat all of theirs. But, I wasn’t about to let lobsters die in vain! Lobsters live matter, ya know! So I finished off everyone else’s! By the time dinner was over I think I consumed approximately 5.5 lobsters! It was a wonderful food coma! The dinner concluded with an amazing piece of cheese cake that was out of this world! If you’re on the fence about this place, don’t be! Go and check them out, you won’t regret it! By far the best meal I had in Boston!!! I wish we could have made it back before we left! This place is a true gem. It looked like they had a really nice bar, too. I would have loved to belly up there and visit with some local people! I will be back to Beantown in the future and I will definitely be back to Mt. Vernon!
