Jimmy’s is a wonderful sushi restaurant with the most well organized and friendly staff who really pride themselves on giving exceptional service and work like a well oiled machine. Great selection of sushi rolls and wonderful lunch and dinner selections. Jimmy works behind the sushi bar and really works exceptionally hard to choose fresh ingredients, and food to serve his patrons.

This is one of the most mediocre sushi restaurants I’ve ever been to. This is what I imagine a white person who has never experienced sushi would make. The only reason I can assume the reviews are high is because it’s all St Pete locals who have never eaten sushi outside of st Pete. My friend was served a glass of ice to go with her soda and it contained a small fly.. they apologized and replaced but, unfortunately so did the second glass but she removed it and moved on. The sashimi was limp and very fishy. The softshell crab roll was not good, not sure if the crab was old but it had a bad after taste. All of the fried rolls were definitely cooked in old oil. Overall the entire experience was disappointing. Not a reflection on the waitstaff who were friendly and helpful but unfortunately that’s not what makes a restaurant good.

We went here because of several referrals from the neighbors. We were a bit disappointed.
My friend’s teriyaki steak was so dry and tough, she kept trying to like but was spitting it out onto her plate. The waitress asked us if we wanted to have it cooked more. What?!
The fish on my roll was good but thin. There were a ton of veggies in my roll which I liked but it was too much, it ruined the overall flavor.
The rice was dry.
The saki was hot but not much flavor.
The chopsticks were really nice.
The menu was whack, literally 3 different menus.
All the guests knew Jimmy but us.
The ginger salad was so wet, I had to drain the bottom of the bowl so I could eat it without dripping the excess water everywhere.
They did come back and offer to take the steak off the check.
The atmosphere was clean but it looked like they were getting ready for mad rush… on a Tuesday at 8:30pm.
It was definitely a different experience.

I can’t say enough about how good the entire meal was. The service was great, the place was very clean and every bite was delicious. We had all sushi on our first visit but I’ll be back to try some of the fried rice dishes. We drove 45 minutes and it was well worth it. I recommend sitting at the sushi bar.

First time trying out Jimmy’s Sushi Bar & Japanese Restaurant. Definitely a 5 star rating here!!! Extensive selection of sushi rolls from simple to extravagant rolls!! Had Crab Rangoon for an appetizer which was delicious!! Service was beyond amazing!!! Food was brought out promptly and looked great!! All the rolls we ordered were colorful, fresh and tasted sooo good!! Definitely recommend this gem of a restaurant!! Will look forward to visiting again to try more of their foods. They also have a lot more variety of foods in addition to their excellent sushi!!! Keep up the great work everyone!!!

We went to jimmys sushi bar and it was amazinggggg. We got hot sake which I was not a huge fan of but I never tried it before and the sushi chef even gave us another one for free. Then lychee sake which was a hit, so tasty. The sushi we got a Philadelphia roll which was good but a bit basic. Then we got a Florida roll deep fried it was delicious, then the mount fiji roll which was my personal fav, it had a bunch of toppings and had a sweet taste to it which I thoroughly enjoyed. Everything came out extremely fast and the waitress even gave me personalized chopsticks she tied up with rubber bands because I am not the best at maneuvering them on my own. It was around $75 before tip and was well worth our money as for 3 rolls we had soooo much food leftover. I would definitely recommend!

I’ve had sushi all across the USA & Jimmy’s Sushi is by far THE BEST!!! Talk about a locals favorite….. Everything is so fresh & deliciously scrumptious… the menu is highly creative & the service is stellar!!! We had the Ichiro Roll, Ryan Roll (not in the pic) & the Spicy Tuna roll. As pretty as roe looks on rolls…not a personal fan…so if roe is your thing, your rolls will be even more visually appealing. The Pic of the sashimi sampler in the silver clamshell on ice wasn’t ours but so beautifully impressive we had to get a pic of it (yet the pics don’t do it justice)!!! If you LOVE sushi or are new to it & willing to give it a try… treat your tastebuds right & head to Jimmy’s Sushi!

AH-MAZING! Seriously so so good. We had it three times in one week, after going the first time! The Triple Threat is THE BEST. The Bucs roll has to be my second favorite. Everyone was very very nice and patient with us. The menu is large and we brought our 9 month old. I totally recommend the sushi here, you won’t regret it!
*Edit* I really must update my review because tonight we had another roll at love, the Florida roll. BUT even better than that… AFTER we finished our meal, our server Johnny recommended the Spicy Tuna Sashimi. We decided to splurge and get one right then (instead of next time) and OH MY GOODNESS, it’s my new favorite thing to eat, probably ever! (Jimmy, Johnny deserves a raise!!)

Been to every Sushi bar in Tampa Bay nothing comes close to Jimmy’s Sushi in St Petersburg on Seminole blvd. Best sushi period no one even comes close!! Try it and post your experience. Been going there since it opened. Love that place. The atmosphere is addictive service is exceptional. I’m a world traveled Foodie.
