Not bad… Got the chicken and pieces were super small compared to what I saw in other pictures, so might have gotten a bad batch. Not a big shoestring fries fan, but if you like then you’ll be happy. Great Mac and cheese

Dined during a weekday night. We didn’t have any reservations but was seated quickly. We ordered chicken tortilla soup and fillet mignon. Both were prepared fresh and the steak was cooked perfectly in medium. Finished off dinner with the carrot cake.

First, our server was amazing! I feel terrible because I did not get his name but a very sweet dark haired young man that was there at 3:45 today. Our server was on point and attentive the entire time, gave excellent recommendations that turned out to be amazing and had a sense of humor that can lighten any mood. Our cocktails were very well mixed and my Old Fashioned was perfectly balanced. We tried the deviled eggs and they weee so good that I would have begged for the recipe! I was on the fence between the trout and sea bass, but our server highly recommended the sea bass, so I went for it and I was beyond impressed. The sea bass was cooked to perfection and carried the flavors of the bayou without over powering the delicate fish flavor, I’ve honestly never had sea bass so well cooked and seasoned. I’m so glad we chose to go here versus other local choices, as my sister and I like to try new places whole we are out on work sites. I can’t recommend this restaurant enough! What a great ending to a very long day of work. Thanks so much everyone!

Classic bad ingredients cooked excellently. The steak was tough, slightly better then diner quality. It was also missing salt but that might just be a choice because they have salt on the table.
The shrimp scampi’s butter was slightly burnt and the pasta definitely had the consistency of packaged Cisco noodles.
The carrot cake was definitely the star. Wouldn’t go back, incredibly overpriced for what was essentially diner quality food.

We ate at your restaurant yesterday for the first time. The service was amazing! The food just okay. The potato soup had too much pepper in it. The bbq ribs were way too spicy. Not enjoyable. But your French Dip sandwich was excellent. And your carrot cake was amazing.

My grandaughter and I just had the BEST dinner tonight due to the Hostess at the front desk, Britney, and due to our amazing server, Julious. Britney went out of her way to accommodate us and Julious was very friendly, attentive and on top of our every need. Probably the best server I have had there in a long time (been going to this restaurant over 20 years). They both made my grandaughter’s first dinner here super special as we were celebrating her making honor roll this semester. Britney has been the most dependable and friendly hostess that I have ever encountered at a restaurant and must work there every day as she is there every time I am!! Just outstanding service every single time we come in. It’s so nice as she recognizes me and treats me special which really means a lot and goes a long way. She is seriously a DREAM employee!! I really hope she never stops working there as there will absolutely be a void that wont be filled! Thank you J. Alexander’s for a wonderful evening from beginning to end that will be in my grandaughter’s and I’s memory banks forever! And don’t worry, we will be back soon!

J Alexander’s never disappoints, we’ll almost never. We all had a great dinner, two of us had salads and one had fish. We all thought the main dishes were perfect. We had a couple minor problems though, cocktails, took a good 20 minutes, clearly they had some sort of problem, but at least a cocktails tasted great! The main problem was a salmon dip appetizer we ordered. It had been sitting and had a completely overwhelming flavor of red onion, the gases had permeated the whole dish, and while we tried to eat it, it was just too much. We sent it back, and the server said the chef agreed, however, they did not give us a credit for the dish. We didn’t want to raise a stink (the appetizer was stinky enough), but it left a very ‘bad taste’ in my mind, yes, puns are intended.
Im guessing our problems had to do with a new server, he was a nice fella, but obviously was new at this game. We were particularly happy with everything else so I thought I would give a review.

Js is my husband’s favorite restaurant. I took him and our boys for his birthday lunch today. The food was great. Morgan was our waiter and she was fantastic. Remembered everything extra we asked for and all the orders (all with modifications) were correct, drinks were replenished when needed. It was a great lunch!
