Reviews
I’ve been coming to this pho restaurant for six or seven years and always recommended it to friends and family. This last visit completely shocked me.
My family and I ordered our usual #7. We seasoned our bowls like we always do, but the moment we took our first bites, something was very wrong. The broth, noodles, and meat all had a strange dirty-sponge/mop-water taste. To make sure it wasn’t the sauces, we tested them separately everything else tasted normal. The problem was clearly the food itself.
We told the server politely and he handled it well. Then the manager the bald man with glasses came out extremely defensive, raising his voice, cutting us off, insisting “a thousand people never complained,” and acting like we were personally attacking him. We weren’t. We were just describing what we tasted after years of being loyal customers.
He talked in circles, said he “didn’t have to do anything,” and walked away. A second bowl was brought out, but it had the same off taste and soggy noodles.
When I later tried to speak calmly with the young woman at the counter (who has always been kind), he stormed over again and loudly said, “If you have something to say, say it to my face.” The staff looked scared she even mouthed “I’m sorry” to me. His behavior was aggressive and unprofessional.
He also contradicted himself later, saying he tasted the pho and it was fine, then said it was too spicy to taste. None of it made sense.
We NEVER asked for anything free we paid our full bill and left without eating.
After six years of loyalty, we left feeling disrespected and honestly heartbroken. The staff is great, but the behavior from that manager and the decline in food quality were unacceptable.
I hope they take this seriously, because what happened to us should never happen to anyone.
Tried the fried egg rolls, special pho, and diced garlic steak with rice.
I didn’t try the rice dish but was told it was good. The egg rolls were good but needed more lettuce. Had to eat 2 without. The pho came with loads of meat, but the broth is a little bland, easily fixed with a bit of hoisin sauce. Overall, it was good food.
Their chicken pho is a standout, boasting a broth that is light yet deeply flavorful, complemented by perfectly cooked chicken and fresh herbs. It’s a comforting bowl of warmth that soothes the soul with every spoonful. The crispy egg rolls provide a satisfying crunch, paired with a filling that strikes the ideal balance of seasoning. The grilled pork rice plate is another highlight, offering tender, well-marinated pork served alongside fluffy white rice and refreshing pickled vegetables.
What adds to the charm is the generous variety of sauces available to tailor your meal to perfection. The attentive service, combined with the vibrant yet casual ambiance, makes Pho Tasty an ideal spot for a laid-back lunch or dinner.
For a restaurant that caters to a constant influx of diners without missing a beat, Pho Tasty truly earns its glowing reputation. Whether you’re a pho enthusiast or simply exploring Vietnamese cuisine, this place will not disappoint.
There’s a lot of indoor and outdoor seating but there always seems to be a wait. We waited for about 15 minutes on a Saturday. There’s plenty of parking in the parking lot.
