Stopped by this Southern Classic Chicken and it was solid. Chicken was hot and crispy, biscuits were good, and the portions were decent for the price. Service was quick and everyone was friendly. Food came out fresh and hit the spot. Would come back again.

Really friendly service very clean establishment. The menu options were great. The prices were great. The french fries were fresh and well seasoned chicken tenders were cooked to perfection.

Please keep Tyra M out the drive thru window. That is the name on the receipt but just to be safe, black girl with blonde hair and messed up attitude. Just rude for no reason. Usually I let it go because people have bad days but I am fed up. There was no line, yall had just opened, why she so nasty already?? When a customer says Thank you, it isnt hard to say something back. She said nothing from the time I gave her my card until she gave it back. Then she had a very negative demeanor. You dont like your job, quit. I am tired of the horrible customer service. I will never return. She obviously dont care so why would I want to get any food from there? Do better with vetting your people for hiring.

Best fried chicken around! And love the dirty rice so much I always get a double order. Only in the area temporarily n Southern Classic has ruined me on all other subpar fried chicken & sides. Wish they’d expand into the northeast DC/ DMV area. They’d make a killing 🙂

Southern Classic Chicken is penalizing cash payers by rounding totals up to the nearest nickel, due to a so called penny shortage. Mint stopped producing pennies in late 2025 there are still about 300 billion pennies are still in circulation. This practice faces legal challenges in some cities and states, including Louisiana where “cash discrimination” laws prevent treating cash customers worse than any other form of payment. Southern Classic Chicken claim it’s due to the lack of circulating coins, leading them to round up to avoid cash handling issues, but consumers like myself see it as a sneaky price hike or “cash tax,” with some laws requiring retailers to only round down to avoid illegally charging cash customers more. File complaints with US Department of Justice and Federal Trade Commission because they can bring sanctions against them for deceptive and discriminatory business practices.

Southern Classic Chicken in “Ratchet City” (aka Shreveport, LA) is the kind of place where your taste buds throw a Mardi Gras parade and your diet quietly packs its bags and leaves.
I walked in expecting chicken. I left questioning every other life decision that didn’t involve eating more chicken. The drive-thru? Faster than gossip in a beauty salon. The combo meals? So generous, I thought they were trying to adopt me.
The chicken itself? Crispy like it’s been personally blessed by the crunch gods. Juicy enough to make you suspicious they’ve got a secret chicken spa in the back. And the rolls? Soft, buttery, and clearly baked with love—or possibly sorcery.
If you’re in Shreveport and not eating at Southern Classic Chicken, are you even living? 10/10 would risk my cholesterol again.

The line was a little long after I got there but we all got thru pretty timely and the chicken is fresh and crispy. Better with the jalapeños squeezed over it but I like spicy
