I guess I’ll start with, do you see this view? It’s unbelievable!
The food was great, I highly recommend trying everything, as this was my first experience, I know I’ll be coming back.
The wait was worth it, we ordered two rum buckets while we waited and enjoyed the beautiful weather and scenery. The rum buckets are awesome! Give them a try.
On my next trip I plan on trying the sushi, it looked great. The sushi chefs know how to make a good looking plate.
This spot has easily become one of my go-to spots while down at Sandy Hook. Next time I’m about leave the beach, before I pack up and head back to the car, I’m calling ahead and checking the wait time and getting on the list.
Do yourself a favor and try this spot.
A tad expensive. Food was good. Service was slow. Frozen margaritas were great but pricey at $15 each. I’ll be back due to the location.

I’ve been coming back ever since my 1st visit 4yrs ago. The mixed drinks are hit or miss so I stick with beer. The steamers were my go to but beware… they now give less but charge more, a whopping $30 and they charge a $4 service fee for using a credit card but don’t tell you up front and you have to ask for an itemized bill; otherwise they just sneak it in there. Today I got the steamers and a cocktail and my bill was $48 ??? For the same view, level of service and quality of food Bahr’s is a better value @ $26 for more steamers. It’s ridiculous to have a $50 bill for steamers and a drink. Truly disappointed in The price gouging.

Under new management. That same plate of about 25/28 steamers for $30 is now only 15 steamers for the same price. Literally cut the quantity & quality of food in half but charges the same $30. That’s the last of my business they’ll ever get. Completely new wait staff, all inexperienced and not customer service focused. Unable to answer simple questions. New owner hasn’t bothered to clean the outside patio of old spilled ketchup and beer on the walls, napkins were on the floor. No more atmosphere, no quality, ridiculous pricing.
Mahi tacos were flavorful but there was only 1 small piece of mahi in each taco. My GF had the lobster roll and she enjoyed it.
We prefer to sit outside, so we were pleasantly surprised by the clear plastic windbreaks the restaurant put up so we could enjoy the outdoors and the nice view without all the wind.
We were really impressed with the selection of non-fried seafood on the menu. We had an impressively flavourful (and lobster packed) lobster roll, and a selection of broiled scallops, shrimp and white fish in a tasty butter sauce. The clam chowder was also flavorful and full of clams.
A great experience… Looking forward to our next visit!
