The Parkway Tavern is a quintessential neighborhood bar with our classic neon sign and vaulted ceiling lined with an extensive tap handle collection. Located in the historical Stadium District in Tacoma, WA, the Parkway – with its exceptional beer offerings, is a favorite watering hole for locals and visitors alike. Our large selection (over 30 taps) of craft beer, hard cider and seltzer rotates regularly; we also have a full bar of a variety of liquor. Our kitchen serves up tasty bar food including sandwiches, burgers, salads, soups and more. We have televisions and our back room features a pool table, shuffle board and more. Be sure to spend time on our dog-friendly outdoor patio. Cheers!
We are a 21+ establishment.

Nice area, but very hard to find parking. I like the outside seating and cozy chill inside atmosphere. The bartenders were very nice and accommodating even though they were very busy on a Friday night. The dreamsicle cider was such a treat.

Parkway Tavern nails the basics with a warm, unpretentious vibe. Fresh, crisp salads steal the show—bright toppings, house-made dressings, and real crunch. The burgers and sandwiches stay juicy and satisfying, pairing perfectly with a thoughtful whiskey lineup. Pours are generous and reasonably priced, and the bartenders know their craft.
Atmosphere and service: Friendly locals, quick, attentive service, and recommendations that hit the mark. A welcoming spot for a relaxed night out or a quick, tasty stop.
Bottom line: If you want fresh, well-made dishes and good-value whiskey in Tacoma, Parkway Tavern is a solid pick. As I like to say like Arnold ” I’ll be Back ”

5/5 stars! This dive bar is a hidden gem with a heart of gold! Been a couple of times and the staff are like family – they’ll greet you by name and have your drink ready before you even order. The decor is a blast from the past, with vintage signs and memorabilia covering every inch of wall space. Don’t skip the dill dip (it’s made in-house). If you’re looking for a spot that’s equal parts divey and welcoming, look no further. Cheers to many more years of good times and great vibes!

I used to live down the street and came here often. I went today and was disappointed. The service was subpar. The food was inedible.
We first ordered nachos, which used velveta instead of real cheddar cheese, which they claimed not to have on hand. After sending that back, we ordered french onion dip with potato chips. The onion dip was made with cream cheese instead of sour cream. Who does that? Didn’t eat that either.
It’s a cozy place if you want to sit and have a drink, but don’t go there if you’re hungry or have taste buds.

Fantastic tavern in a beautiful neighborhood in north end. A huge variety of tasty local beers. Beautifully decorated with a warm inviting atmosphere. Didn’t have food but heard (and saw) that it’s fantastic. Lots of games including shuffleboard, darts and pool for only 50 cents!!

I wanted to really like this place as it is a short distance from where I live. Arrived on Sun right at 11a which is when they opened to watch the game. The hostess was less than friendly, initially I thought that she just didn’t vibe with me and I went even farther to think maybe I wasn’t the right color. I asked about turning the TV on for the game and she curtly said that it would be a minute. Ordered drinks while I perused the menu. Drinks arrived, same hostess acted as if our presence was an entire inconvenience for her. As soon as the television for the game came on so did the music, so a person in my party politely asked if the volume could be turned up for the game and again another curt response of, “No” given. Here’s the thing we fully understand that some establishments are labeled as sports bars and the games can only be seen not heard, in which case had she stated that or anything more than her short one worded answer, it would have been received better. I have never consumed a drink so fast just so that I could close tab and leave. On the way out, we saw the same hostess being very jolly and jovial with another table. I’m not sure if my disappointing experience was related to my dark complexion, or maybe they prefer their regulars or maybe she just needed to work in the back doing stocking/ inventory. In any case, I won’t be returning. On another note the West End Pub’s service, food and drinks were great.

We’ve been coming here a couple decades now. Excellent beer selection, dog friendly patio, friendly people. So great on a sunny day, but cozy on a rainy one. Full on Tacoma locals spot.

Minimum amount to tip is 20%. Brothers, just raise the prices of the drinks and food. If I get a couple Rainier beers and the lowest tip option starting at me is 20% when I have been doing my own service, I’m going to piss my pants. C’mon. Either pay your employees a livable wage or allow us to tip 10-20%. No one tips 30% unless they are crazy or have insane money.
