I recently ordered takeout by phone from Tai Pei, including sweet and sour chicken, sesame chicken, a half order of chicken fried rice, egg rolls, and crab rangoon. I was quoted a 15-minute pickup time and arrived exactly at that mark.
When I got to the counter, I was asked for my phone number instead of the order number I had been given, and then told it would be just a couple more minutes. I sat down to wait, but after about 15 additional minutes, I noticed customers who had ordered after me receiving their food. Another employee reassured me that my order was almost ready. I asked—calmly and without frustration—if my order might not have been started yet, just looking for clarification.
I was told the delay was because the sesame chicken needed to be cooked twice, first fried and then finished in the sauce. I asked if the rest of the food would still be fresh and was assured that it would be. When my order was finally brought out, the employee apologized and mentioned that something extra had been added for the wait. Unfortunately, when I got home, there was nothing additional in the bag beyond what I ordered.
As for the food itself, the egg rolls were hot, fresh, and enjoyable. The sweet and sour chicken, however, was soggy, and the sesame chicken sauce was extremely watery—it poured out of the container. The crab rangoon was warm but fairly bland and lacked much flavor.
By the time I left, the table that had been ordering when I first arrived was nearly finished eating. I understand that restaurants get busy and delays happen, but if I had known my takeout order wouldn’t really be started until I arrived, I would have just ordered in person. Overall, the experience felt disorganized, and while some items were fine, others missed the mark.

I LOVE this place! When I lived in OKC I’d eat there regularly. Now that I live about 1.5 hours away I stop by every chance I get! I’ve dined at this family owned restaurant for about 20 years! The owner always remembers my name and my order! I feel valued as a customer.

They had great food! They had wonderful chicken chow mein and garlic fritter chicken. It was fast and I left very full and had left overs. They had great fried rice not the yellow rice served at other places. I will definitely be going back!

New owners!! We used to eat here about 3 times per month. Close and convenient. We have been several times since new owners took over. Food not fresh. Food is ok, but seems to lack flavor. We probably won’t be back.

I’ve been coming here for 20 year’s and it’s still the best Chinese food. I was a little bummed out when I went in today cause the egg rolls use to be big and now they are small ,they raised their prices, and it’s just not quite the same. You have to order at the register as opposed the coming to your table and taking your order. All and all it’s still the best just wish it didn’t change

It was pretty full for a Friday night/evening. One reason I thought this place may be pretty good. It was pretty cheap for what you get on your plate. Unfortunately the waitress we had was pretty much nonexistent for me. It took awhile for me to get a drink and a refill. She came to our table and asked my buddy if he needed a refill and his cup wasnt even empty while mine was empty was wasnt even asked for a refill. Finally I had to call her over and then it took another 5 minutes to get that. Besides that I believe I got a #4 dinner combo. It came with quite a bit of food I couldn’t even finish. Besides that it was pretty yummy to me. Again these are just my own opinions and feel free to try for yourself.

Grabbed some food here for the first time on my way home. It’s over 20 mins from my house but now I will go out of my way to get food here. We got tangerine chicken, sesame chicken, sweet and sour pork, and broccoli beef, along with egg drop soup and egg rolls. Absolutely everything is delicious. My kids loved it all, too.
The staff were all super friendly. The service was fast. And the restaurant looked really nice when we went by. Would eat inside for sure.
