Maria runs the show like an absolute legend — friendly, funny, and somehow everywhere at once. She made us feel like family five minutes after walking in. We handed over all food decisions to her and didn’t regret a single bite.
We had the sugar cane prawn balls, pork skewers, spring rolls, combination rice hotpot, soft shell crab, roast quail, and seafood salad. Every dish slapped, but the spring rolls… wow. Crispy, flavour-packed, and unlike anything I’ve ever had before.
The whole place has that perfect combo of good vibes, proper home-style cooking, and a team that clearly loves what they do. Easily one of the best Vietnamese feeds in SA. Can’t wait to come back — Maria, save us a table!
P.S. Maria made me write this 5 star review. Otherwise, it could easily be a 6 stars if she’d let me made my own decision.
As I changed my mind from dining at another restaurant to this Vietnam Restaurant just 30 minutes before my arrival at around 5:20 pm, I didn’t make reservation as I wondered arrival at such early time for dinner should be easy to get a table. I almost made a big mistake with this
When I arrived to the reception, there were quite a lot of customers already arrived and they were dining in the restaurant. The elegant Vietnamese lady looked like the boss reviewed the booking records for almost 60 seconds and eventually advised the waitress to brought me to a table in the dining area next door. I guess I was pretty lucky to get the table without reservation but I must return the table before 7pm which still allowed me 90 minutes to dine so it was not a problem at all.
As it was our first time visiting this restaurant, we spent some time to go through the big menu but during ordering, the young waitress was so helpful and she provided some suggestions to make our ordering easier.
The food was really amzing and delicious. All the dishes that we ordered were exceptional but I highly recommend the Vietnam Chrisp Parcels, Canton-style Roasted Duck and VND Salted Soft Shell Crab. I couldn’t forget how delicious the Salted duck egg sauce was and it was super-match with the soft shell crabs . The Special Warm Seafood Salad (Large) was delicious and came with a generous portion but I would prefer to have cold salad if they have that option. The BBQ Quails were yummy too but I would prefer less sauce version or simply cooking like Hong Kong Style Roast Pigeon would be better (sorry, then it would become Hong Kong food rather than Vietnamese food ).
Overall this meal was very enjoyable and full of satisfactions. Absolutely no doubt that I will return again to try other dishes.
I think this family owned restaurant have really done a great job to make their dishes wide enough to cover a big variety of authentic Vietnamese food. The dining environment is awesome too, with nostalgic old Vietnamese style in their original shop but a brand new stylish design restaurant with bar counter next door. I reckon it would be a very nice place to organise a party or company function in this modern child restaurant.
There were many Vietnamese people living in Hong Kong, Sydney or Melbourne. As far as I know, most of the Vietnamese restaurants in the places that I lived before were providing simple Vietnamese food like Beef Pho, Vietnamese Bun, Salad and Banh Mi etc. There were not many Vietnamese restaurants offering such big variety of authentic Vietnamese food which were having such high quality in terms of dish presentation and flavour, as well as friendly services by their staff and beautiful dining environment.
I highly recommend this Vietnam Restaurant to anyone living in Adelaide or even if you are just a tourist travelling to Adelaide. Don’t follow my mistake and booking is a must.
Food was ok
I had the chance to try out a Vietnamese restaurant for the very first time today – and honestly, the food was absolutely incredible! It completely exceeded my expectations.
The moment I walked in, I was welcomed by a warm and cozy atmosphere. Traveling from Mel so we are craving for authentic Vietnamese food. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive throughout the meal.
