This was NOT Shake Shack!
I’ve been to Shake Shack on the West Coast many times and this was not it. First they want me to tip the people making and serving the food before they do their job – NO; no where on the West Coast did I ever see this. This fast food restaurant was dirty, the tables were not wiped, the paint was worn off the door to the back, and the tables were worn out. All of this didn’t sit well with me for a place known as a “high end” burger joint. They didn’t even have free internet!
Does my photo look like $23 worth?
1) Fries: stale! I know fries and these were sitting under the heat lamp too long. There is no excuse for this. This is all computerized now. No one needs to think.
2) Burger: OMG. They have over 20 different options on their website; only 8 showed up on the board behind the register. I wanted to get the ShakeBurger Lettuce Wrap; it wasn’t on their board and the guy at the register acted like no one ever orders it and when they do get an order they chop up the burger – NO, next. How about the SmokeShack? That comes with cherry peppers; no take that off. I get it – no tomato – damn. The little slip that came with the burger tells the story: single cheese, add shake sauce, add bacon; everything is customized! This was supposed to come with some lettuce; do you see any in the photo? This was a total failure to me. They spread out the burger like you do when you fan the cards you’re dealt with in poker to make the burger look larger than it actually is.
3) Shake: small. I don’t remember the shakes even coming in this shape of cup. The guy at the register wanted to add on all kinds of things to this; I declined them. No doubt they would have added to my bill. I bet there’s only 10 oz of product in that cup; certainly no more than 12 oz and definitely not 16 oz.
My prediction is all these burger joints are going to go out of business. They’ve jacked up the prices so high, I can’t afford to eat at them and if they’re going to do such a poor job at preparation, I’m out. Like I said above, this was a huge disappointment to me. I recommend staying away. There’s no place to park here anyway.
Awful!!! Even my kids said_ Mom this is the first time and the last!.
About the food ➡
Order:
Burgers, fries, milkshake and soda.
Burgers tastes good but are very small. With the lack of communication we ordered them and for our surprise the size is similar to Burger King Jr.bacon sandwich. Just to give an idea, my son is 6’1″, 17 years old and eat a lot. When we go to McDonald’s he eats: 2 big Mac’s with cheese, spice ck sandwich, large fries, large coke, large milkshake and sometimes a oreo Mc Flurry. At this place, he wasn’t hungry, lol, and ordered 2 burgers, large milkshake and fries, but it wasn’t enough. Due to bad stuff, he didn’t want to order anything else there. My daughter got a milkshake, burguer and fries and I just had a burguer, fries, and soda.
Both of my kids hated the chocolate milkshake and drink not even half of it.
If your kids like shakes from McDonald’s or burguer king, they will hate it as well.
VERY EXPENSIVE. I don’t mind the price as long the food is really good and the stuff make me feel welcomed and treats me well. Here, no!
We waiting long time to get the order.
I hope this honest review can help you all.
This branch is nicely spacious. It’s broken in 3 main areas: 1) food ordering area, 2) main seating area, and outdoors seating area.
The space of the food ordering area is the best I’ve seen for restaurants in this category. It’s big and open yet very welcoming. It also has some bar seating. The main seating area is also spacious and open with booths, semi-booth, and table seating. The outdoor area is also big and nice, but was empty due to the cold weather.
There are no wall but all windows, which gives it an amazing open and natural feel.
Now to the food. We ordered a single shakeburger, double shakeburger that was lettuce wrap, 10-piece chicken bites with side of BBQ sauce, fries, chocolate milkshake, and pomegranate yuzu lemonade. All was around $50.
The food was good and delicious. Again not my favorite but fairly good. In fact, it’s among the best Shake Shack burgers I’ve had in this chain of restaurants. The same applies for fries… they were fresh and crispy on the outside but soft and hot on the inside. The yuzu in the lemonade was evident and I like that, but I think it was too sweet. The milkshake was perfectly mixed, but I would have liked it to be more chocolaty.
Chicken bites (aka nuggets) were real and unprocessed chicken white meat. They were lightly coated with a crispy hot batter. I wasn’t impressed, but I still they’re worth it specially if your kids like chicken “nuggets” and you want to give them a better quality meat.
Overall I would recommend this place if you like Shake Shack, you like quality burger, and you like a kids-friendly place that is more or less COVID-appropriate.
